Oide Donau - Pizza & Grill — Restaurant in Vienna

I'm a regular customer (once every 3 weeks for about 3yrs) which is why I'm so sad to write this. The food is average, but it's convenient in a nice setting, which is why we come.

But that's not why I'm writing this review. I dropped by this afternoon with my 3 young children in 32 degree heat. We bought 4 ice creams to go, for 14 Euros. As I left, I asked the waiter to fill my water bottle for my thirsty 3yr old - to which I was told he would only do it for 2.10 Euros. Tap water to-go for 2.10 Euros?! Are you kidding me?

I'd understand if I'd been sat down, using waiter service and wasn't ordering drinks... I work in hospitality and appreciate this may be frustrating for a restaurant. But to refuse to fill a child's water bottle in 32 degree heat, when I'd already spent 14 euros on ice creams and wasn't even sitting down/using waiter service, is an absolute disgrace.

When I explained that I didn't want to walk with 3 children in the heat to a tap that used the same pipe... he just shook his head and told me "rules are rules" and that if I had a problem I should email the restaurant. Really? Is this service that you're proud of? Can your staff not think for themselves?! (It's worth saying his much nicer colleague was about to run the tap as he didn't agree with the 'manager'... but was then told to stop.)

Never in my time in Vienna have I been faced with such rude, obnoxious and thoughtless service. And that's saying...

The atmosphere was cozy and there were beautiful hanging paintings that caught my attention, I think they were for the owners of the restaurant. We sat on the terrace because the weather was good. Service was fast and the waiter was nice . We ordered several orders like vegetarian burger, chicken burger, and jalapeno with cheese (was very delicious), Onion rings , Avocado salad (so good) and a chicken basket for children. The food was good & bill reasonable and worth repeating if you are in the same area.. Only there were a lot of insects because the restaurant’s location was at the end...

We, a huge group, have seen 3 owner's change for the last 8 years. It was only getting worse unfortunately. After playing we have always been Clients and always everyone ordered food. Not anymore...eth become very expensive and the quality is not worth the money at all. I personally dislike the renovation inside. The colours sucks. Definetely, now we only enjoy drinking beer and eating fries...nth else. They need to see what was a blockbuster sale before and to adjust their menu. Absolutely new menu is needed or they wont survive only on...
