This restaurant has a great view on the Danube, pretty good food but a great problem: the unpleasantness of a waiter. Maybe if you're served by another person, you can have a totally different experience. Our story: we live in Vienna, we bring visiting friends from Italy at dinner. As soon as we are accompanied to our reserved table, the waiter mumbles something about Italians. We pay little attention in the beginning, but it will come back later. We put the orders, and he starts to be despotic: "You have one only possibility to change drinks." "Can we have a soda zitrone instead of a rabarber?" "Uffff, I need to ask my manager. " And sbuffing, he runs away to then come back and say, "It's the last change you're allowed to. No change at all is possible for the food." I don't like mustard, and I ask to replace it on the dish I was about to choose. There was a list of 7 dips. "No, you cannot." Interesting. He set a strange atmosphere in our table by looking totally impatient while taking the orders and continuing sbuffing. Our Italian guests are starting to feel uncomfortable. How come a waiter can behave like that? Cutting short, our guests wanted to pay for the dinner. They did not leave any tips as the guy literally did not deserve any. He started to move chairs loudly, take noisily cutlery away, and saying "I should have known what happens serving Italians!"
How do you dare? Get your nerves well taken care of, and if you're stressed, take a day off work.
Maybe the manager can take a lot into this...
Read moreWe were celebrating a bday party here and it was very funny experience, firstly we were served by a waitress who kept forgetting our drinks and messing up the food order and then at the end cashing us out wrong (I understand when someone has a bad day, we left her a tip for her efforts) the young people there that were helping the main staff were rude asking people to pass them plates in the middle of the conversation because they can’t reach it it’s very unprofessional, second think to pay 1.20 for tap water after making a okayish bill is absolutely absurd 😂 and I order a carafe so the waitress wouldn’t have to bring 2 additional glasses because there were so many on the table because the service staff wasn’t taking any away, you are just money hungry and it’s so sad, we still had fun because we made our own great atmosphere but everything else gets a 1 maybe 1.5 star, oh and btw the bday girl couldn’t receive drink or a cake on the house and not even a happy bday from the staff, in conclusion they don’t care, I write this on English so everyone can understand otherwise we are local and not tourist so watch out where you spend...
Read moreI've spent almost a month in this neighborhood and have eaten ay Ufertaverne several times due to convenience. Service here has been universally impersonal and rushed. They hire young people that are not profesional and generally don't seem to like the dining public. You have to get up and hunt them down for service as they avoid customer eye contact like the plague. There are no ventilators, so unless there's a strong breeze and you just happen to be upwind you'll inhaling along with the smokers. The menu is fairly simple and actually the items I've eaten, were tasty enough. The prices are, however, quite high, and present a poor value when combined with the rushed and impersonal service. This is not a fine oceanfront restaurant at a yacht club.It is actually just a casual restaurant at a pondside dock where they rent...
