Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany — Attraction in Dhaka Metropolitan

I am writing this review to bring serious attention to the unacceptable behavior of the receptionist at the German Embassy in Bangladesh. My experience on 26 October 2025, around 2:00 PM local time, was one of the most unpleasant interactions I have ever had with any official institution.

From the very beginning of the call, the receptionist’s tone was rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in basic manners. She seemed irritated for no reason and acted as if she was doing me a personal favor by answering the phone. Her attitude reflected a sense of arrogance rather than professionalism, which is shocking for someone representing such a respected embassy.

When I politely asked her how I could formally raise a complaint regarding her behavior, she flat-out refused to provide any information or guidance. Instead of assisting, she became more defensive and continued to speak in a disrespectful tone.

She told me that no one from the visa section was available and asked me to “call back later.” When I asked a very reasonable question — what time should I call back? — she raised her voice, started arguing, and hung up the call abruptly. I called back again; she ignored the first call, then picked up the second time only to hang up on me again mid-conversation.

This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially from an embassy that represents one of the most respected countries in the world. I genuinely expected better communication standards and courtesy from the German Embassy.

It is disappointing to experience such behavior, which not only reflects poorly on the individual but also tarnishes the reputation of the embassy as a whole. I sincerely urge senior management to review the call made at the mentioned time and take appropriate disciplinary action. The staff should be trained in basic communication etiquette, respect, and professionalism when dealing with the public.

I am posting this publicly because there was no available channel to lodge a formal complaint — the receptionist herself refused to share that information. I hope this message reaches someone in authority who values the embassy’s reputation and ensures that future callers are treated with the respect...

I’m beyond impressed with this restaurant! The food was extraordinary — perfectly seasoned, fresh, and beautifully presented. The staff was welcoming and made us feel special throughout our meal. They paid attention to every detail, even small touches like refilling drinks at just the right time and offering dessert suggestions. Its quite appalling how the German Embasy works and how callously they have taken issuing of Student Visas. Its been almost 5 weeks since my friends applied for their visa and they have their flights booked for 19 Feb and are yet to hear from the embassy. Surprisingly some of their friends who applied almost a 8 days later have received their Visa. If there no system in place whats the point of applying well in advance?What is even more funnier is that there is no way of tracking it as they send one standard email and when you go to the Embassy first they say please wait for an hour we are on break and then later they say please call on some godforsaken number which they dont even pick. Really do you even realize that people have their future on stake coz of this? Will your embassy refund lakhs that have been spent? There is a reason why the Visa application has travel dates. For heavens-sake WAKE UP AND WORK...
