I bought our tickets from Sucursal 2 in Av Illammpu with Andrea. It was 60 bvs for the trip from La Paz to Copacabana and 260 bvs from Copacabana to Cusco. The attendant told us to be at the Office 16 in the bus terminal in La Paz at 7:30 and the bus would leave at 8:00. We arrived at the Office at 7:32 (i was looking at the clock) and the lady on the desk told us the bus had left. At 7:34 she told us the bus could still be in the terminal, so i chased the bus running among other buses all the way down to the avenue. Even though i hitted the bus and screamed at the driver many times, he didn't stopped. Another attendant told us that the best option now would be to take another bus from Cemitério. We took a cab (20 bvs) and a bus from there paying another 30 bvs each. It was not a company bus, dirty, unsafe and small. The trip to Tiquina at lake Titicaca was horrifying. We had to get out many times because of the dangerous 'shortcut' the driver took. All the passengers were scared, not just us.
When we finally arrived at Tiquina and crossed the lake to the city, we found the Bus from Titicaca. We chased the bus with other two passengers that had the same problem in La Paz and we could finally enter the bus after a discussion with the driver that was VERY rude and unhelpful. We made it to Copacaba 2 hours late and lost our boat to Isla del Sol.
We had planned 2 days in Isla but they were ruined by this experience and we wouldn't stay in Bolívia one more day. We were able to change our tickets and leave Copacabana on the same day. The trip to Cusco was not good and we had no blankets, no help at the border, nothing. We paid more for sofa bed seats and some of them didn't even had covers for the seats.
We arrived at Cusco and luggage pick-up was a mess. Lots of bags been thrown around and staff screaming we should hurry up.
It was the worst experience we ever had with any kind of service anywhere...
Read moreIn 1.5 years of traveling I haven’t experienced such a scammy and unprofessional transport company. I booked a bus full cama from Copacabana to Arequipa. First thing, the lady was not able to tell me whether it departures at 6 or 6:30 and acted like she was trying to hide information. Before the departure, our group was divided and some people suddenly should be transported in a minivan. I asked to get some money back because I obviously payed for a full cama (bed) bus and not for a small minivan and their answer was just no and totally unfriendly. They were not communicating with us at all. I then had to siting the front with the bus driver because all regular seats in the bus were occupied. For that reason, at the border to Peru, my name was not on the list because apparently only the correct number of seats in the bus is allowed to cross the border. It ended in a discussion with the border staff, but they were so friendly to let me pass. In Puno, we had to change the bus but nobody knew which bus company is next. I was running through the terminal to look for an office of Titicaca busses, it was closed. A guy from another bus company helped me out and I finally boarded the right bus.
Horrible experience, extremely unfriendly people. Don‘t book your ticket here. rather...
Read moreDo NOT take the line from Copacabana to Arequipa. First of all, none of the steps of the trip were done with the company itself. They told us we will only have only to change in Puno from one bus to another. The reality was that we went from Copacabana to the border in a mini van, we crossed the border walking with all our luggage, then we had to wait and went in a taxi to the center of the village where we waited for another mini van to get full that brought us to Puno. Therefore, 2 minivans and 1 taxi for 1/3 of the journey. Once arrived in Puno we got the surprise that Titicaca does NOT have the service to Arequipa and we had to go in another company, in this case Pacifico which we did not chose and which the ticket cost not even close to the amount that we paid nor had the same service. We asked to put a complain to the company which was writen in a notebook that seemed not to be at all official but still we did it. The staff who answered our questions in Puni was not even from the company as there were noone from Titicaca there. A comolete scam as the price we paid for the ticket and the service was not at all what we chose. In Conclusion, worse service ever, the person in Copacabana completely lied to us in our face as we did the necessary questions before...
