Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque (Koski Mehmed-pašina džamija)- As you approach the #OldBridge, you will notice a mosque at an unusual spot right at the edge of river Neretva. Like most of the mosques in Bosnia, this too is an ancient structure built with typical Ottoman architecture.

This mosque was built at the beginning of the 17th century by Koski Mehmed-Pasha and hence named after him. A spectacular panoramic view of the city can be enjoyed from the minaret of the mosque, at only five metres from the Neretva River.

Right outside the mosque is a small step besides the stoned wall which is an ideal spot to click pictures of the Old Bridge while the same bridge gives a breath taking view of this historical mosque and the river Neretva.

Pictures cannot do justice, you have to be there to feel the grandeur of these two...

Strong warning on the minaret! The flow of people is unregulated and a cohort of us trying to get down was blocked for 5-7 minutes by people trying to go up. It was complicated by a middle aged person being both exhausted and panicked and unable to move. I felt the sweltering body heat of dozens of people in the staircase travel upwards. It was close to terrifying. When we finally moved again, the people who were blocking the way insisted on slipping past us. The stairway was inadequate to hold 2 people wide, but we squeezed by pressed against each other. Please devise some regulations such as 10 people at a time who have 5 minutes to go up while the next group waits. The view is amazing though, but not for the price of a near...

I am so disappointed. My wife and I were here to do some chopping and spend some money on this little town. My wife sat her phone on a stair to record herself walking through a narrow street. This lady grabbed my wife's phone and tried to steal it.

She claimed that the phone was hers, and we had to prove to her that it was hers when she saw my wife leaving the phone on the stairs to record herself.

For those with authority in this little town, people like this, foreign people, and other visitors escape from here and don’t make any purchases. That makes you guys lose money because no one wants to be robbed and then spend money. This is...

Beautiful preserved masjid. This masjid is placed in the heart of Mostar’s old town. Came here to pray during Zuhr time- it was not busy. (FYI, if you are Muslim and go during prayer time you do not have to pay- I think the tickets are for non Muslims) The women’s section is upstairs- very tiny maybe about 8-10 women can fit. Would recommend bringing your own prayer mat as it is an old mosque so the condition of the ladies section isn’t the best. After we prayed, I walked to the top of the minaret, it was very narrow but when I got to the top the view was amazing. It would be very tricky to go down or up if there was two way traffic.
