it was a pleasure to eat at this place in Mostar. We were actually sceptical at the beginning - just because it was right after THE tourist street in Mostar where every tourist walks by and it also looked very tourist-attractive, very over-the-top for me and definitely not the places me and and my boyfriend are usually would go to. But we didn't have much time and we were hungry soo we said let's try it! And we were SO HAPPY that we did because really the food was AMAZING! The vegetarian or vegan plate (you can imagine I was sceptical as well first) was the best vegetarian meal I had in a very traditional restaurant. And with this top top place I don't mean only in Bosnia or the Balkan - it was the best vegetarian Main dish I got in a traditional food place ever. So I'm from Austria and of course there are some options, but it's always the same and I think the traditional austrian places (=Gasthäuser) really could learn a lot from Bosnian vegetarian plates like they had it in this restaurant. So we were not only full and satisfied after our visit but also so surprised and happy that we have been there❣️ Thank you LOTS for everything - also the service was crazy great (it was so quick) and Ben was the best waiter!! The prices are so low for tourists, so make sure you tip these amazing...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant to diner. One of us asked a vegan option and when starting to eat she realized it was cold and we said it to the waiter. The waiter asked if she wanted something else, she said no, as the food was cooked before and they just warm it up, he admited so, and insisted to choose something else. Ok, vegan burguer. When we were going to pay he asked cash or card and we said if they acepted euros, than cash. It was 29€, we had 40€, and he said there was no change. We said card then, he said it was a problem as he already registered as cash! Ok then... he give us the change in KM... We didn't realized that in the end we paid both dishes (we saw the prices later through internet), the first cold one, that she only tried and they took away, and the second one that, in the end, she ate less then an half!! The food we tried wasn't even good and when we lunch today, in another restaurant here in Mostar, Labirint, with views to the river and very nice service, we paid 20€!! We would never go back or advice anyone to go there. IT'S A SHAME!!!! DON'T LOOSE YOUR MONEY IN FOOD NOT FRESH OR GOOD AT ALL, BUT JUST WARMED UP! It shouldn't be OK to do this in a...
Read moreI first went there after Sheva’s walking tour as it was recommended but I did not take a coupon (for a welcome drink and dessert). I mentioned this to the waiter when another group form my tour presented their coupon and the waiter kindly extended the same offer to me even without a coupon.
I asked for a recommendation and he suggested the shashlik. You could never go wrong with shashlik! And it did deliver, I enjoyed it so immensely that the next day, I came back to try more food. Forgot the name of it but the Bosnian cookie dessert was also amazing.
The next day, I came to try the baklava — different from the Turkish one in the syrup that they use, if my tastebuds did not fail me, but similarly delicious. I had to catch a bus so I ordered dinner — a breaded chicken burger with fries, to go.
Sadly, by the time I ate it, it was a few hours since, so a little soggy and cold, but the portion was huge and generous, and the chicken still delicious. I just wished I could have had the chance to eat it fresh!
Service here is also top notch, servers attentive and receptive to your requests and queries, and very helpful when answering...
