National Museum of Anthropology — Attraction in Sofia City

Came here on Friday about 1.5 hours before the closing time. We came only to get a stamp from the ticket office/gift shop, not to actually go into the museum. The border guard stood in the doorway and kept saying no, to come back tomorrow. Meanwhile it was pouring with rain and we were both getting wet. Didn't even let us into the entrance for a second to look at our map. I asked him why it was closed in my broken Bulgarian, he just shrugged his shoulders. In other places that give these stamps, using the border guards go get it and stamp our tourist leaflet. It would have required very very little effort for him to have done this. Oh well. The guard of the museum is a little bit lazy with foreigners. The museum itself doesn't give good enough the price is not exaggerated but not worth it to visit it. I've expect more not only 4 rooms, in the most of the items (90%) no English explanation (if I need to pay 6 leva more or less 3 usd per person, at least they should put it, and no guide to explain things). Националният антропологичен музей към БАН е относително млад – придобива този статут на 21 март 2007 г. Билети: Вход - 6 лв. Ученици, студенти, войници - 3 лв. Вход за пенсионери – 2 лв. Група ученици, студенти, деца - 2 лв. на посетител Семеен билет (вход и беседа) – 12лв Хора с физически увреждания - безплатно

За беседи на български език с групи се заплаща допълнително: група до 5 посетители – 6 лв. група от 5 до 10 посетители – 10 лв. група от 10 до 20 посетители – 15 лв. За беседи на английски език се заплаща допълнително 20 лв. Всяка последна събота на месеца посещенията са безплатни за всички категории...
