The Grizzly Paw Pub is well situated right in downtown Canmore. Lovely streetside patio for warmer weather. We visited during the unseasonably snowy mid-October so we opted for inside.Lovely, lively upscale pub atmosphere. All the safety precautions are in place (sanitizer, masks mandatory, tables well spaced apart, contactless menus and they take your name and number for contact tracing, if needed 👍) Lovely, very locally Canadian menu of upscale pub offerings. It was hard to choose! Had the The New Normal Alberta beef burger and sweet potato fries. Excellent choice! The burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. The secret sauce was really tasty and the dill dipping sauce for the fries was a nice change from the standard chipotle. My partner opted for the Wild Boar burger with figgy apply jam. We both were very happy with our choices. Lots of enticing menu items to choose from, it has hard to pick. We all chose the flight of 4 craft beer to test. The pumpkin one was very interesting and had just the right amount of pumpkin flavour. Worth trying! My favourite was the citrus Three Sister's. Other favourites around the table were the raspberry ale and the new Scottish Unity. A lovely place for a well earned meal after hiking. Service was efficient and friendly. I will definitely go back.

There are a lot of things this brewery could have done better, especially the management. Grizzly Paw is a very busy place, and the patio was full when we got there. The hostess should have come and check on the guests waiting in line, but that did not happen. There was a lot of neglect and seating guests down took so long. The server offered very poor service. As a server in a tourist town, it would have been almost a second nature for a server to be professional and attentive. Our server looked outside the window when we ordered, didn't pay attention to our order at all. When the food finally arrived, the burger came with no sauce. The server did not ask us if we would like any ketchup or mustard. Good thing about this place is that it is pretty cheap compared to brewery in Toronto. Food is generously portioned, but taste is very mediocre. Beer is okay, atmosphere is lively, but the services and management were absolutely awful. The people working there lacked enthusiasm, almost seemed like they hate their job.

Ordered the boss burger and a side of poutine that I shared with my partner, since I was still full from my earlier meal. Got a recommendation of grumpy honey bear beer for to try. I didn’t know that there was a flight sample which I would have been able to try the other beer in their line up. The food was okay, it’s taste like your typical burger. I’m surprised that it wasn’t dry, it got a little bit of juice which I’m happy. The poutine is a classic. Fries is crunchy and soft, curds has a nice bounce! The beer, is on a sweeter side which is nice to pair up with the food. Overall ambience of the place is amazing. There’s 2 floor of seating, lots of space. At the time we went it wasn’t pack yet. Most likely at night it will be. Our waitress is very responsive and attentive! I appreciate that! Overall experience, I highly recommend trying this place out! Note: parking is only paid on the side road.

My partner and I came in to have a late lunch at around 4:30. We asked to sit on the second floor so we could get a view of three sisters, our server took a good 10 minutes to even show up to greet us. Never gave his name, we ordered drinks and they took probably another 10 minutes. We understand that we were further away from everything so we didn’t have an issue with the time. Afterwards we ordered tacos, a bulgogi burger, and the cauliflower. Our food came out in a timely manner but when the server brought our food he brought a poutine instead of my tacos. He said he grabbed the wrong dish and left the rest. He came back 5 mins later and told me he ran my tacos to the wrong table or something and said he sent them through. I waited at least another 15 minutes to get my tacos and my partner was done his meal by that point. He dropped off the tacos and didn’t come back for another 10 minutes. I had tried to eat my first taco but the meat was extremely dry and there was a huge chunk of fat in the tacos, which I showed the server. Honestly I wanted to send them back and told the server they weren’t very good and showed him the chunk of fat but my partner just said we could take a box as neither of us wanted to wait on another meal nor did the server offer, he also never offered a manager or anything to rectify the situation after I waited 25 minutes for my food after he most likely rang in the wrong item and tried to play it off. He also took at least 10 minutes to check in on my tacos after he dropped them off, if he had come sooner I would’ve considered ordering something else but we are from Calgary and didn’t wanna wait another half hour when we still had to drive home. I would’ve really appreciated if he had come back sooner and offered me the option of something to go or at the very least taken care of something for the wait or how disappointing the tacos were. We were super disappointed with our experience, we understand this is not a fine dining experience but I was really unimpressed with the way we were treated. I would not recommend Grizzley Paw unless you’re just coming for drinks, the service is lacking at best and it’s clear our server only cared about his tip and not our experience whatsoever. I never write reviews because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but I am shocked by how poorly we...

My partner and I decided we would stop here after work. It honestly was off to a good start. The host was nice, seated us right away. We ended up waiting 15 minutes before our server finally came to our table. We figured it was busy even though she made eye contact with me many times and knew we were there. Finally she came over, we order some starters, couple drinks and our main meals. Drinks and starters shows up fairly quick. But then an hour later, we were still waiting on our main meals. Customers who came in after us were receiving their food, eating and leaving while we continued to wait. Finally after not seeing our server for a bit, she stopped by, quickly told us she forgot to input our main meals and that they were on the way and then left again. After another 10 minutes, we decided we waited long enough and went downstairs to the hostess, explained what was going on and asked for the bill. Went back to our seats and who I assume was the manager came by and asked if everything was ok. We explained we had been waiting over a hour for our meals and just want to settle the bill with what we did get and leave. He explained the storm caused everyone to move inside and that our server was trying to be a hero by taking care of the chaos downstairs. Understandable but again, people who came in way after us were still served promptly by the same server we had. they were kind enough to offer a discount but still quite a disappointing experience and a lackluster apology from our server for the poor service...

The food was phenomenal! Perfectly done, not some cheap pub grub, they have a proper menu and proper cooks.

We sat upstairs, which had a BEAUTIFUL view of the Three Sisters mountains.

I have the Roasted Broccoli Bowl, which was way better than it sounds. I don't normally finish an entire meal, however this one I could not stop eating. The medley was perfection, although I did kick aside a few of the peppers at the end, they just weren't my jam.

My husband had the Brisket Beef Dip Sandwich, which I stole a few bites from... my Broccoli Bowl was ravishing, but that beef dip Sammie was out of this world!!! Would definitely get one for myself next time gahhh, the fried shredded pickle bits made me want to cry they were so good.

Only complaint would be the delayed service of drinks, a few mix ups with the billing, as we paid for some of our friends' food because it was put on our bill. Then the flight of sodas that was brought to our table were served in dirty glasses (pink lipstick stains on two of them) which I didnt notice until after I had drank some. Definitely grossed me out, as I am not a drink sharer in the first place. The server knocked this off of our bill once we showed her.

I would definitely go back for the food, it was 10/10 in that category! The owners are doing an excellent job serving quality food, I hope this is kept up for my...
