Cineplex Cinemas Metropolis is undoubtedly one of the best places to enjoy a cinematic experience in Burnaby. From the moment you step in, the modern and welcoming atmosphere surrounds you. The theater’s design is spacious and well-organized, making it easy to navigate between the different auditoriums and concession areas.
The auditoriums are roomy, with extremely comfortable seats that offer plenty of legroom, which is always appreciated for long screenings. Additionally, the VIP theaters are a true luxury, perfect for those looking for a more exclusive and relaxing experience, with food and drink service directly at your seat.
The picture and sound quality are outstanding. The screens are sharp and large, and the surround sound creates total immersion in the movie, making even the smallest scenes come to life.
The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. Whether at the ticket counter, the food area, or inside the theaters, they strive to provide excellent customer service.
The variety in the concession area is also remarkable. From fresh, perfectly prepared popcorn to more gourmet options like nachos, hot dogs, and ice cream, there’s something for everyone.
Another great advantage is its location within Metropolis at Metrotown. It’s incredibly convenient to combine a movie outing with a shopping day or a meal at the mall. Additionally, it’s easily accessible by public transportation, making it a great option for everyone.

Read moreShannon, an employee at Cineplex Cinemas Metropolis had disappointed me with her unethical, rude, and dishonest behavior on Saturday May 18th 2019. My friend and I left 2 unopened Yifang fruit teas outside of the theater near where they check your tickets because they don't allow outside food (100% reasonable). I was informed by Shannon that they are not responsible for the drinks if lost, so I was mentally prepared that our drinks will likely be gone by the time the movie ends. After we went into the theater, I put my bag down and went out to use washroom, and I saw this Shannon holding my drinks walking towards their break room. I went up to Shannon and asked: "why are you holding my drinks?" and she said "I am doing you a favor, I am gonna put it in the fridge for you." I knew what exactly was going on, but I decided to trust her. I confirmed with her that I could pick it up from their fridge and it'll be there after my movie, and she told me "yes". After I finished my movie, I walked to their break room and asked another employee for my drinks because Shannon wasn't there. The girl immediately said: "it's not here, we don't have it" without even checking. So, I knew then, Shannon did it anyways, even after I caught her. Real disappointment in such a young girl. Yes, it's only two drinks, no money value, but it's really the principle that matters. I don't expect you to be the good person who will watch after my stuff, but please don't be the one...
Read moreYou may want to reconsider booking a birthday party at this theatre. Not only did the staff and manager cause unnecessary confusion and service delays in collecting the in-person deposit — why it had to be in-person is still a mystery to me — they caused even more confusion and service delays at the start of the actual party. Cheyenne instructs me to get there 15 to 30 minutes before the start of the movie to pay for the party. I arrive 30 minutes before and wait in line for the one cashier who is serving one customer in front of me for more than 10 minutes. Why? No idea. Then he has no idea how to handle a party check-in and calls another staff member over. After another 10 minutes while she is searching her system, she notifies me that she is only involved with deposits and that I need to see someone else. Then another staff member - the supposed party event host — shows up but doesn’t understand that I need to pay and check the party in. Then Diaz the manager is called when I demand to see him. He doesn’t understand what I need to do. After another 5 minutes of explaining what Cheyenne’s instructions were, he makes the event host collect the payment and check the party in. 30 minute process to pay and check in. To top it off, they forget the loot bags at the end and I had to remind the host and wait another 10-15 minutes. If you want your party to go smoothly and efficiently, do not book it at...
