Our first visit to Canffle was about a month ago since than we've done take out twice now. Includes today, Sunday April 30th. Food still great and customer service was even better! I had ordered online and paid but when I went to pick up my order, found out that it actually didn't go through. I was upset and wanted to cancel my order and get back my money but the female employee taking orders at the front was very friendly, apologetic and made sure my order was put through and done as quickly as possible. They comp my meal which was unnecessary because the customer service with how she handled the situation was perfect. I tried to pay and insisted numerous times but they wouldn't take my money. So I will be ordering there again but will make sure that I show my gratitude with a tip equivalent to the generosity they display ed. Stay tuned for that. So if your on the fence about trying this place out, well get off the fence and pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed!!! Thanks Previous post: Was looking for a new spot for brunch that was near home. Found Canffle. Small brunch restaurant that specialized in gourmet coffee and different waffle combinations. They're only open till 4pm on weekends, 3 pm weekdays. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Place is bright but small. So limited seating for dining in. But worth the wait if you do dine in. Some post suggest you have to go to the counter to order, no you don't. We ordered their signature Norwegian Brown Cheese Waffle. It's a dessert waffle that's a must try! We also ordered Bacon Bennie(the bacon isn't bacon stripes), 2 orders of Salmon Bennie, Egg Droffle(this is a huge, delicious sandwich that feeds easily 2 people. Be warned must have huge appetite for this one) and their Oreo Cream Waffle. If you have choice in waffles order the croffle, it's a combination waffle n croissant. The bennies was good because both orders were not too salty as you'll find at some restaurant. Servings are healthy portions at an affordable price. Everything we ordered was delicious. You will leave very full and satisfied. They also have a front counter that you can approach and order take out. Great convenience. This will be our go-to-brunch spot! So if you're considering trying this place for the first time please don't. Don't want it so busy that we can't do dining in!

So glad I found a relatively new (opened in the summer of 2021) that is not in downtown! Parking is easy (easy street parking, about 1-2 blocks walking). Their name "Canffle" stands for "Can" and "Waffle". What's unique is that all their coffees (hot or cold) can be served in a one sized metal can at your request for no additional charge. It is piping hot initially, so don't drink it right away - it is a great option for takeout or to just get a cool picture/experience. Verry Berry Cream ($6.75): This is also a croffle, but it is sweater and crunchier on the outside (perhaps glazed with some sugar/glaze). I took a bunch of pictures and the whipped cream did not collapse, so it is probably a mixture of fresh cream, and fake (or whatever you call it) cream but it is still very tasty regardless. Not too sweet either. Garnished with fresh berries. Latte ($4.40): beautiful latte art. I like their coffee roasts too, it isn't too acidic or anything. Just a smooth, strong, bold cup of coffee. Sea Salt Cream Iced Coffee ($5.50): Very tasty drink - mix well! It's a must have as it is photogenic, tastes amazing, and is very reasonably priced. Creamy drink while also packing a punch with its caffeine and coffee flavour (I'm a coffee fanatic). Americano ($3.75): I got this in a can, just because I could haha. It was fun to try. Salmon Benny on Mochi Waffle ($15.75): You get to pick the type of waffle you want. The mochi waffle is super cool, and I absolutely LOVED the texture of the mochi waffle. It's not mochi chunks inside, but the WHOLE waffle is chewy. The egg wasn't leaky at all, but that's okay. I really liked the chunky guacamole mix on the waffle, it had chunks of tomatoes, onions and other goodies. Decent portion of smoke salmon on top too. Croffle Club Sandwich ($14.75): Croffle Club Sandwich had a yummy homemade sauce (some sort of sweet mustard?). Also has chicken breast, leaky egg, sweet onion & spinach. The sauce and thinly sliced sweet onions were m favourite part. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience - great staff, very reasonably prices, and everything (food & coffees) were delicious. Bonus points for unique factor (eg. Coffee in a can, mochi waffle) I'd highly recommend this place!

Very mixed opinions- a possible part of why I had a harder time with the food may be because my taste simply doesn’t align well with it/I don’t eat food like this regularly, so keep that in mind and don’t let my review discourage you from giving Canffle a try! Firstly, the interior has a cute, bright look to it, with nicely arranged seats and vibrant, colourful splashes of orange and yellow scattered around. Some other reviews have mentioned this already, but there is a noticeable food/kitchen smell that is particularly prominent when first walking in. Although I didn’t test my hair/clothes for any lingering scent, it’d still probably be best to visit on the same day you wash your hair! Service was pleasant for me, no issues there :) When the food arrived, I was quite excited as it looked very appetizing on the plate, and the portion size is really good!! :) However, after a while into eating, I started feeling quite nauseous and sick, which was odd as I did not have any existing conditions prior to the visit, wasn’t sick/experiencing any health issues, and wasn’t eating anything I was allergic to. The croffle was delicious on its own, and I can see the croffle being an excellent treat when paired with things like chocolate, fruit, or similar, but for some reason the savoury Hollandaise sauce, egg, cheese and ham combo combined with the flakey (in a good way!) croffle didn’t work very well for me. Maybe I'm just the type of person who can only eat the croffle on its own or with minimal toppings. Also, if you don’t want to get messy in front of a date or anything, then I’d recommend you avoid the Egg Droffle- the sauce gets everywhere, drips down your fingers, and can get you a little messy! I came out feeling quite sick, and I don’t think I’d go back again, at least not for now. I do believe I’m probably just an unusual case, as so many others seem to really love the food here- so take my experience with a grain of salt!

TL;DR: Every server I interacted with was kind and professional except for one. If you have a RBF or make an expression she doesn’t like, she’ll give you rude service and dismiss you if you try to address her behaviour. Rather than approaching the table to speak respectfully, she shouts across the room with things like, “do you need something?”. Another employee informed me that this particular server has received multiple complaints from various customers and has repeatedly been told she needs retraining. I would honestly appreciate it if the staffs could review the camera footage of “me being angry at her”, like she claimed because that was not the case.

Aside from one rude employee, the food was good. I’d recommend it.

—- Terrible service from one of the staff on Saturday, June 28th, between 12:45–1:40 PM. Due to loud music, I had to repeatedly ask if any tables were available. The server, with attitude, shouted, “no, we don’t have any tables,” then told me to add my name to the waitlist. When it was time to be seated, instead of approaching me, she yelled across the room, “You, come in.” I was observing her interactions with other customers and when she saw me observing, she yelled across the room, “do you need something?” prompting me to address her rude behavior. She dismissed my concerns, saying, “why do you think that? I didn’t hear you. The music was loud. You were being angry at me. Your face looked angry”. Regardless, that’s no excuse for poor service. After the unproductive exchange, I requested a manager.

Another staff member later approached me and I explained the situation. She was kind, understanding, and mentioned that the original server has a history of being blunt and has received multiple complaints. She also shared that the server has required repeated training on customer service. With ongoing issues and repeated feedback from different customers, perhaps this role isn’t the right fit for her. When I confronted the server, I was calm and respectful; I simply expressed that yelling across the room was inappropriate. Her response that I “looked angry”, was a poor justification for being rude. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she dismissed my concerns. The second staff member offered complimentary drinks (which I declined) and later offered waffles when I went to pay, which I appreciated and accepted.

Every other server, especially the second one who spoke with me, was kind, helpful, and understanding. I genuinely appreciated the service provided by the rest of the team.

Although the issue was addressed while I was still there, I believe this staff member either needs thorough retraining or should be reconsidered for the role. Consistently treating multiple customers with attitude over minor misunderstandings or unintentional gestures is unprofessional and...

Been here several times over the last couple months. Food and drinks are excellent! Prices are reasonable. Also I enjoy the variety and different types of waffles. Mochi waffle is my favorite. Sea salt cream iced coffee is amazing.

I have dined in each time and I don’t think it would be as good doing takeout, but this was my first time during lunch hour and I will never come again during busy lunch time. Seating inside needs much improvement. There are tables of 2 and 4 scrunched together on one half of the restaurant. They are not easily able to modify seating arrangements, so if you have any more than a party of 4, prepare to wait at least an hour.

Today I arrived with my family (2 adults, 2 kids) at 11:42am. There were a few parties ahead of us, including one party of 6 who arrived 15 mins earlier. At 12:09pm, a staff asked if we would split into 2 tables of 2 - I had to decline because my toddler cannot eat by herself sitting across from me. By around 12:25pm, the table of 6 who had been there an hour was told that they had to wait another 30 mins, so they went in to complain and were able to squish into a table of 4. By this time, there were 2 other tables of 4 who had both just got their food. Being the next table of 4 and having been here before, I lined up to put in our order right after the party of 6 (they don’t take orders at the table). After placing our order, we still waited another 15 minutes before finally getting a table around 12:55pm. They tried to serve my iced coffee but we didn’t have a table.

Then we waited another 15 minutes before food arrived at our table, and finished around 1:55pm. They do have a dine-in time limit of 60 minutes, understandably due to the issues they have experienced. As we were just about to pack up, a staff member had to come up and tell us our time was up, basically to kick us out. This did it for me. If I hadn’t already ordered while waiting for a table, there was no way we would have finished in 60 minutes. If you’re going to impose a time limit on dine-in, then something needs to be done about wait times. Also, no one kicked out the 2 tables of 4 while my family was waiting inside, literally checking every 2 minutes wondering why they were still sitting there with empty plates.

While I appreciate that the front of house staff are doing their best, I feel that management needs to figure out how to make changes to improve...
