TL;DR: Every server I interacted with was kind and professional except for one. If you have a RBF or make an expression she doesn’t like, she’ll give you rude service and dismiss you if you try to address her behaviour. Rather than approaching the table to speak respectfully, she shouts across the room with things like, “do you need something?”. Another employee informed me that this particular server has received multiple complaints from various customers and has repeatedly been told she needs retraining. I would honestly appreciate it if the staffs could review the camera footage of “me being angry at her”, like she claimed because that was not the case.
Aside from one rude employee, the food was good. I’d recommend it.
—- Terrible service from one of the staff on Saturday, June 28th, between 12:45–1:40 PM. Due to loud music, I had to repeatedly ask if any tables were available. The server, with attitude, shouted, “no, we don’t have any tables,” then told me to add my name to the waitlist. When it was time to be seated, instead of approaching me, she yelled across the room, “You, come in.” I was observing her interactions with other customers and when she saw me observing, she yelled across the room, “do you need something?” prompting me to address her rude behavior. She dismissed my concerns, saying, “why do you think that? I didn’t hear you. The music was loud. You were being angry at me. Your face looked angry”. Regardless, that’s no excuse for poor service. After the unproductive exchange, I requested a manager.
Another staff member later approached me and I explained the situation. She was kind, understanding, and mentioned that the original server has a history of being blunt and has received multiple complaints. She also shared that the server has required repeated training on customer service. With ongoing issues and repeated feedback from different customers, perhaps this role isn’t the right fit for her. When I confronted the server, I was calm and respectful; I simply expressed that yelling across the room was inappropriate. Her response that I “looked angry”, was a poor justification for being rude. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she dismissed my concerns. The second staff member offered complimentary drinks (which I declined) and later offered waffles when I went to pay, which I appreciated and accepted.
Every other server, especially the second one who spoke with me, was kind, helpful, and understanding. I genuinely appreciated the service provided by the rest of the team.
Although the issue was addressed while I was still there, I believe this staff member either needs thorough retraining or should be reconsidered for the role. Consistently treating multiple customers with attitude over minor misunderstandings or unintentional gestures is unprofessional and...
Read moreBeen here several times over the last couple months. Food and drinks are excellent! Prices are reasonable. Also I enjoy the variety and different types of waffles. Mochi waffle is my favorite. Sea salt cream iced coffee is amazing.
I have dined in each time and I don’t think it would be as good doing takeout, but this was my first time during lunch hour and I will never come again during busy lunch time. Seating inside needs much improvement. There are tables of 2 and 4 scrunched together on one half of the restaurant. They are not easily able to modify seating arrangements, so if you have any more than a party of 4, prepare to wait at least an hour.
Today I arrived with my family (2 adults, 2 kids) at 11:42am. There were a few parties ahead of us, including one party of 6 who arrived 15 mins earlier. At 12:09pm, a staff asked if we would split into 2 tables of 2 - I had to decline because my toddler cannot eat by herself sitting across from me. By around 12:25pm, the table of 6 who had been there an hour was told that they had to wait another 30 mins, so they went in to complain and were able to squish into a table of 4. By this time, there were 2 other tables of 4 who had both just got their food. Being the next table of 4 and having been here before, I lined up to put in our order right after the party of 6 (they don’t take orders at the table). After placing our order, we still waited another 15 minutes before finally getting a table around 12:55pm. They tried to serve my iced coffee but we didn’t have a table.
Then we waited another 15 minutes before food arrived at our table, and finished around 1:55pm. They do have a dine-in time limit of 60 minutes, understandably due to the issues they have experienced. As we were just about to pack up, a staff member had to come up and tell us our time was up, basically to kick us out. This did it for me. If I hadn’t already ordered while waiting for a table, there was no way we would have finished in 60 minutes. If you’re going to impose a time limit on dine-in, then something needs to be done about wait times. Also, no one kicked out the 2 tables of 4 while my family was waiting inside, literally checking every 2 minutes wondering why they were still sitting there with empty plates.
While I appreciate that the front of house staff are doing their best, I feel that management needs to figure out how to make changes to improve...
Read moreOur first visit to Canffle was about a month ago since than we've done take out twice now. Includes today, Sunday April 30th. Food still great and customer service was even better!
I had ordered online and paid but when I went to pick up my order, found out that it actually didn't go through. I was upset and wanted to cancel my order and get back my money but the female employee taking orders at the front was very friendly, apologetic and made sure my order was put through and done as quickly as possible. They comp my meal which was unnecessary because the customer service with how she handled the situation was perfect. I tried to pay and insisted numerous times but they wouldn't take my money. So I will be ordering there again but will make sure that I show my gratitude with a tip equivalent to the generosity they display ed. Stay tuned for that.
So if your on the fence about trying this place out, well get off the fence and pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed!!!
Thanks

Was looking for a new spot for brunch that was near home. Found Canffle. Small brunch restaurant that specialized in gourmet coffee and different waffle combinations. They're only open till 4pm on weekends, 3 pm weekdays. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Place is bright but small. So limited seating for dining in. But worth the wait if you do dine in. Some post suggest you have to go to the counter to order, no you don't.
We ordered their signature Norwegian Brown Cheese Waffle. It's a dessert waffle that's a must try!
We also ordered Bacon Bennie(the bacon isn't bacon stripes), 2 orders of Salmon Bennie, Egg Droffle(this is a huge, delicious sandwich that feeds easily 2 people. Be warned must have huge appetite for this one) and their Oreo Cream Waffle. If you have choice in waffles order the croffle, it's a combination waffle n croissant. The bennies was good because both orders were not too salty as you'll find at some restaurant.
Servings are healthy portions at an affordable price. Everything we ordered was delicious. You will leave very full and satisfied.
They also have a front counter that you can approach and order take out. Great convenience. This will be our go-to-brunch spot! So if you're considering trying this place for the first time please don't. Don't want it so busy that we can't...
