Fresh & Local Farm Store — Attraction in Calgary

I have order produce from here a handful of times. Each time most of the produce is pretty good (Superstore quality, I prefer to shop local instead of the big box stores) but, usually received one or two mouldy/questionable products.

I never complained or reached out to the company because I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I understand how swamped and stressed businesses are with the economy and pandemic and people make mistakes.

But when I received my last order it was a complete disaster. Half of the produce was obviously mouldy, the fiddleheads had a heavy rancid smell to them and the bread was extremely stale.

The owner's response was, "That's not right. I will make it right tomorrow.  Sorry for the sub par performance." Later I was met with, "I'm going to use your order as an case study for improvement.  Thanks for reaching out."

I find this frustrating and insulting. Now I'm going to have to go spend an additional $90 on produce for my family. These times are hard...

This is an amazing spot! Local produce from alberta, bc, and saskatchewan from the store to your plate. Fresh and local has amazing seasonal selections from western Canada's produce growers, year round. The owners and staff are amazing and can keep you informed of what's coming up next in the store. A wonderful store! The owners and staff are always very friendly and welcoming. It’s evident that they truly care about their customers, often even remembering them by name (or at least remembering their faces). Lots of locally-grown/produced foods. The produce is sometimes not in the best condition, but is reasonably priced.
