Was just there for four days for the CPA conference and was not impressed with the overall guest experience.
I liked the close proximity to downtown hotels, and there is a nice view while going down escalators. Also there was good acoustics in main ball room during the key note speakers.
Cons: Acoustics in meeting rooms was horrible, we could barely hear the speaker in our room due to the two speakers on each side of us. Food servers had no idea what they were doing. Escalators were not always working and you were forced to walk between floors as there was only one elevator for the whole building.
The food was good but the servers were a disaster especially when it came to allergies. For our opening lunch, we had a lady at our table that was highly allergic to seafood. The lunch that day was salmon. When she told the server about her allergy, his response was "so you are ok with the salmon then". By the time she finally got her replacement meal everyone at the table had finished their desserts. When she asked the server what her replacement meal was her response was "I don't know, I was just told to bring this to you". She was then too scared to eat what they had brought her and ended up only having a salad and bread.
During all of the meals you had to constantly ask for coffee, tea and water along with cream and milk as they only provided those small individual creamers. At one point the server wasn't paying attention and topped up my tea with coffee even though the teabag was still in the cup as I had just asked for more hot water.
The worst was at the closing lunch. I was sitting beside the same woman and once again she explained she was severely allergic to seafood and ask them to confirm that there was no fish oil or any fish products used in the beef stir-fry for lunch. After approximately 30 mins our server finally came out and said yes the meal was safe for her to eat. But the other server that was topping up our coffee and water at our table told her not to trust the kitchen as she has seem them cross containment food all the time and that the chefs do not care. At which point my colleague was then scared to eat her meal as she did not know who to believe.
Not sure what was happening, but it was as if no one cared nor was in charge. Never mind the fact that someone dropped numerous items during the speeches and such that everyone in entire ballroom could hear the noise across the room.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here for the first time for a conference. Very nice design from the outside and inside as well. It looked like a green house with all those greeneries! So beautiful! Very clean and big halls with lots of room. The staff however were useless when it came to asking them questions about the food, they don't know if something is vegetarian or if it has certain allergens. So i took one star for that The food was just meh.. i don't know if this is because of the conference choices or because that's what the convention center offers.. if it is because the convention center offerings then consider this place only a 2 star place just for the design. The food is abysmal. Lunches in packed paper bags just a sandwich with a cup of veg (the first day was fresh veg but second day was very wilted and yucky). The breakfast was so blah just scrambled eggs and bagels with cream cheese variety and preserves. The potato at breakfast was super dry and yucky. The coffee is horrible even though it's Starbucks. They had different milks and creamers offered but none were flavored which would have been a great option. Lastly, on my last day i think i got food poisoning because i had a terrible stomach ache with other symptoms after that chickpea lunch sandwich and wilted veg. In my opinion half the fun at any conference is the atmosphere and meals but unfortunately this was stripped away from me in...
