Great view of the city. View of the river, it’s the beginning of April and it still hasn’t melted completely and ducks are walking on the ice, it’s fun. The bridge is convenient for shortening the journey on foot from one bank to the other. It looks reliable, although the sign says that it was built more than 100 years ago.

It was sunny that day, and we went out to take a look. We drove to Low Level Bridge, which connected both sides of North Saskatchewan River. Although the bridge was rusty, it still provided a trail for both vehicles and pedestrians. People could cross the river and enjoy the view from either side.

Nothing spectacular about the low level bridge. The pathway across is not as wide as some of the other newer bridges in Edmonton. And pedestrians are very close to the traffic. The architecture is nothing out is the ordinary. It's a functional driving and pedestrian bridge.

Not sure why I am reviewing a bridge but this is one of the oldest in the city and was originally used for transporting products across the river by rail. Its a cool looking bridge with style from a bygone era. Good to drive on or see from a distance but as soon as you get close you quickly realize the city does not care about it. Totally rusty and run down. I guess they put all of their money into the bright and shiny walterdale bridge instead of spending a few dollars sprucing up this one. Too bad really as it is visible from downtown and close to the funicular so it really should at look like its...

This bridge is, as others have commented, quite rusty. I don't believe, however, that it is unsafe. It demands a lot of attention when crossing, due to narrow lanes and a right-hand turn northbound that is right at the end of the bridge. I hope that Edmonton gives it a good scrub and new coat of paint soonish, though there are a few major construction projects to clear from...
