🍻 Edmonton Must-Visit Bar | Craft Beer Market Full Experience Guide

I recently visited Craft Beer Market in Edmonton with my kids, and I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated within eight minutes, which was a pleasant surprise, especially during a busy evening. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The ambiance of Craft Beer Market strikes a perfect balance between a lively pub and a family-friendly restaurant. The décor is modern yet cozy, with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful design elements that create a relaxed and enjoyable environment. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. Our server took the time to explain the menu, offered recommendations, and checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Even though the place was bustling, we never felt rushed, and the service remained consistently excellent throughout our visit. Now, onto the food – it was simply fantastic. The menu at Craft Beer Market offers a wide variety of dishes, ensuring there is something for everyone. We started with the Korean Fried Cauliflower, which was crispy, flavorful, and a perfect appetizer to kick off our meal. For the main course, I opted for the Craft Mac & Cheese, a rich and creamy delight that was comfort food at its best. My kids ordered the Classic Cheeseburger and Chicken Tenders, both of which were cooked to perfection and came with generous portions of fries. The highlight for me was the beer selection. Craft Beer Market boasts an impressive array of local and international craft beers. As a beer enthusiast, I was thrilled to see such a diverse selection, featuring everything from hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts and refreshing lagers. The beer menu is thoughtfully curated, and the staff are knowledgeable about the different options, making recommendations based on your preferences. I tried a flight of beers, which allowed me to sample a variety of brews, and I was not disappointed. Each beer was distinct and well-crafted, showcasing the best of the craft beer scene. In addition to the food and drink, the overall ambiance of Craft Beer Market deserves special mention. The open-concept layout, with its high ceilings and large windows, gives the space an airy and spacious feel. The background music was at a perfect volume, adding to the lively atmosphere without being overpowering. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating an environment that is both enjoyable and conducive to socializing. One thing that stood out to me was how family-friendly the place was, despite being a beer market. The staff were great with my kids, providing coloring sheets and crayons to keep them entertained. The children's menu had several options that were both appealing and nutritious, which is always a plus when dining out with little ones. In conclusion, Craft Beer Market in Edmonton exceeded my expectations in every way. From the prompt seating and exceptional service to the delicious food and extensive beer selection, every aspect of our visit was top-notch. Whether you're a craft beer aficionado or simply looking for a great place to enjoy a meal with family and friends, Craft Beer Market is a fantastic choice. I highly recommend it and look forward to my next visit with my parents.

Absolutely dreadful service. We had an reservation for 7 people for lunch time on a Saturday. When we got there, we immediately noticed that there was a lineup of people waiting outside - which makes sense since we were part of an event with 450 people over at the Convention Centre. We were seated quickly, however after that we waited over 45 mins just to get water at our table. Our server didn't even come over to take our orders until we'd been sitting for 45 minutes. At no point in time did our server or a manager come over to check on us or explain anything. They might have been "swamped" "slammed" unexpectedly but that is no excuse for the poor communication and terrible service - no apology made by the server or manager. Upon making our displeasure known, we were met with "well what you like us to do. The kitchen is swamped" An hour and a half later, as we made to decision to walk out, I approached a manager to inform them - I was told that they had comped our table. How does that help us, if we're walking out?? Lucky for us, we had one person willing to stay back to get our food to go - which arrived over 2 hours after we were seated. On top of that, there were clear errors in our food. My dish was supposed to have grilled avocado - there was none to be found. Another person ordered a side salad, but was given fries. And a side order of Mac & cheese was completely omitted. There were several other tables and patrons who were also in the same position. Many walked out as well, all clearly disgruntled and hungry. While I cannot fault the restaurant for the unexpected rush, or for being swamped - I can fault them for their lack of concern for the time of others, their lack of empathy for their patron’s discomfort, and their lack of professional communication. A preemptive “sorry for the inconvenience” would have gone a long way. Will absolutely never ever return to this place ever!! Nor would recommend this establishment.

My sister and I came in on Sunday May 18th and the service was awful starting from when we first walked in the hostess was looking down and then looked up at us and said “how can I help you” but in very short and rude tone said she couldn’t seat us cause it was busy which was fine so we asked if we can sit at the bar and she said “if u can find seats sure” to us her tone was a bit rude but whatever it was busy maybe she was overwhelmed. We sit at the bar and the bartender / server we had has absolutely no service training I was shocked cause I’ve been to craft beer market a good amount of times and I’ve always received great service and it was my sisters first time and we were out celebrating her birthday. The server did not introduce himself, so I don’t even know his name, but I’ll describe him. He has tan skin and dark brown hair And was working behind the bar on May 18 around 7:30 PM that’s around the time we left. He was also working today May 30 in the evening as I saw him again today and he was wearing glasses today when he was serving my sister and I like I mentioned before he did not introduce himself he did not check up on us once we ordered our food. I had to ask him for a water refill plenty of times whenever he brought the side place, he legit just put it down very aggressively and walked away anytime me and my sister were trying to order or ask him for something. He was walking away as we’re talking to him and looking back, but then proceeded to forget what we were Asking him to bring us and I’m assuming that’s because he couldn’t stand there for two seconds to let us order properly and had to walk away as we were talking even a task is asking for a to go box took way too long as he walked past us many times to check up on every other table he was serving or seat. He was serving around us and around the bar when we asked for our bills, we were trying to explain to him how we wanted it separately, but he continued to just quickly walk off in the middle of us talking came back and then we said we wanted it split. He walked away again as we were saying that crumbled up the receipt and Threw it into the garbage like it was a basketball. after we paid, of course we didn’t tip because the service was horrible and he looked at us both and gave us the dirtiest look in my head. I’ve worked in the service industry and I get when it’s busy you can feel overwhelmed, but this was just disrespectful at that point. I came in again today, May 30 with another group of friends he was not our server but he did bring our table some ranch and again he put the ranch down, kind of aggressively and kept walking and even my friends at the table were saying wow he was kind of rude, so I just wanted to leave this review because I feel like this server needs to be spoken to and maybe have an...

A Dismal Experience That Ruined a Once-Favorite Spot

As a longtime patron of this restaurant, my heart is heavy to say that my recent visit will likely be my last. For the past four years, I have enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the company, often bringing friends and family to share in what was once a delightful experience. However, my most recent outing was nothing short of a disaster, leaving me disillusioned and frustrated.

I wish I knew the waiters name, as It was hard to even discern whether our waiter introduced himself – if he did, it was drowned out by the blaring music. To my disbelief, he left in such a hurry he didn’t even finish taking the entire table order, he took our drink orders and then returned with our main courses before any beverages had arrived. This is not just a minor mistake; it’s indicative of a severe lack of attention to detail and professionalism.

The situation only worsened from there. We were served our meals without any cutlery, forcing us to awkwardly flag down the waiter for the most basic essentials. Also, asking for napkins felt like an unreasonable request, given the price we were paying for our meal. At a table of four, we spent over $300, yet the service we received was the worst I have encountered in my 25 years on this planet.

To add insult to injury, after the meal, the waiter had the gall to remind three out of four of us that there was no gratuity included in the bill and politely (or rather, impolitely) requested a tip. As if that wasn’t audacious enough, he later lamented to me, “you know, without any tips, I basically paid to serve you.” Really? That’s your takeaway after the abysmal service we received? Perhaps he should reflect on the quality of his work before complaining about compensation.

The saving grace of the evening was the attentive ladies who stepped in to address our complaints. They demonstrated genuine care and made an effort to salvage our experience, which I truly appreciate. Unfortunately, they cannot overshadow the dreadful service provided by our waiter.

It’s disheartening to see a place I once loved slip so far in terms of service quality. I hope that the long-haired server finds a role more suited to his skills, as clearly, the restaurant industry might not be the right fit for him. Until significant changes are made, I will be taking my business elsewhere, and I strongly recommend others consider doing the same. Save your money and seek out establishments that value their customers and provide the service...
