I logged in to leave a review this place. I always get them through UberEATS so I have never visited. But I ordered so many times, and after so many great experience, I decided I should leave a review. Their food is consistent and fresh, nice portions, well packaged. This is my go-to when I don't know what to order because whatever I choose from their menu, it NEVER fails. I know I am getting good food consistently. Side salad is always freshly chopped , even small condiments like dressing and sauce are so delicious and different from other Katsu or Japanese place. It's more Korean style sauce and very delicious! I tried udon, ramen , and ebi nabe from this place, I was pleasantly surprised. I would say the broth actually tasted better than restaurants that are names " Japanese restaurant" specialty. Miso Ramen is not same as traditional Japanese ramen dish ( I know how it supposed to taste) , but it was delicious on its own right. Nabe was super good, sometimes I save the soup to make another dish on my own the next day. My husband wants them when he feels coming down with cold/flu. I would say only thing is everything is a bit salty for my liking, but I can dilute with water and adjust. Finally, I really like them because everything is quite healthy despite Katsu being deep fried because it is fresh and it comes with decent amount of delicious salad and soup. My kid who doesn't like veggies would eat their salad in copious amounts, so this is really my go-to to place. One day I would like...
Read moreI would like to review The Katsu Langley restaurant.
Food: we ordered assorted katsu, pork tenderloin katsu and chicken katsu. Cutlets were fried so well, very flavourful and well seasoned. Pork and chicken were very tender and juicy. Assorted katsu cake with a mix of chicken, pork, shrimp and fish for those who want a taste of everything. It's a good way to sample each type of cutlet. I would recommend to everyone to try their katsu. They use panko to make the texture extra crispy. Each set comes with sauce, soup, steamed rice and lettuce salad. The salad portion could have been larger.
Service: we were greeted promptly as we were the first customers for dinner. The server took orders and brought the food shortly. After that, none of them came to check on us to see how the food was or if we needed anything. After the meal, I asked one of servers for the bill and she stood and stared as I was paying. I felt very uncomfortable as if she was checking how much I would tip. I tipped them 15% even though we didn't get anything. Service was very disappointing.
Overall: I don't know if I want to come back. Food was good but service was pretty non existent even though the restaurant was not busy. There are plenty of other options for katsu that serve similar quality of food with much...
Read moreWe have been wanting to try this place for a couple months now and I’m so glad we finally got around to it! I’m just sad we didn’t try it any sooner. Amazing katsu! Their menu is fairly simple which allows them to really hone in on making great katsu which they’ve most definitely succeeded at! I got the assorted katsu (fish, chicken, hire & prawn) and my husband got the hire katsu (pork tenderloin). We were a touch worried about getting take out for fear of sogginess but those fears were unfounded! Both of our meals were nice and crispy, moist and so flavorful. I truly enjoyed all of the katsu in my assorted katsu. The cabbage salad and sauces were amazing and the perfect compliment to the meal. My husband got interrupted and didn’t eat his meal until about 45 minutes later and it was still nice and crunchy. Can’t wait to do dine in here once that is available! In the meantime we’d be more than happy to get takeout...
