First impression: pretty new and somewhat clean, but only played their basketball court. Standard size court...BUT!!!
Suggest not to waste your money here if you decide to drop-in with small groups to play at the basketball court.
Worst experience we had compared with other community centers in Coquitlam. They only have one basketball court, but both ends are usually occupied by large groups of people playing 3vs3 or 4vs4. Making it VERY difficult for smaller groups or individuals to use the side court.
I went with one of my friend and we tried using the side court but felt deeply abused or even bullied by the group of people playing at the center court. We tried our best to leave them spaces and avoid to be in their way, which we were basically only standing and shooting at the edge of the side court already. HOWEVER, they intentionally charged into us and hit our ball away when it rolled towards them, but when their ball jumped towards us, we passed them back politely. We had to look out for them and their ball whenever we tried to stay on the side court.
This is the worst placement, and no staff seems to care. BE AWARE if you are considering to go in groups of two or three and doesn't want to join their 3vs3 or 4vs4. Better off pick other community center rather than spending similar amount of money but sitting at the bench most of the times. Oh, they also don't have vending machines, so make sure to bring your own drinks or else you will have to drink from their one and only fountain water. Think of...
Read moreThe Ballet instructor made 4 out of 10 sessions and decided to no-show on the last class. A young female staff with glasses asked my kids and I to leave a play room on the 2nd floor (next to the ballet room) that was not being used for the whole hour we were there. Then we were asked not to play Foosball in lounge area because there was a cooking class about to start. The staff made no attempt to use the partition that was available to separate the rooms. Meanwhile, there was more than sufficient staff to facilitate that. Just showed my family and I they were too lazy to...
Read moreMy son who is 3 years old, had an art and crafts class in this community centre. Unfortunately, the teacher was not friendly and was unable to build a good rapport with the kids. She was also unable to make the younger kids engaged in the activities. Few minutes after the class started, my son was asked to leave the class because he did not sit at the table. That was a really bad experience both for my son and me. I would not recommend this class for...
