If you're in Victoria and looking for a unique and lively weekend outing, I highly recommend making the 45-minute drive up to Duncan's Saturday Market. This bustling local market is a true gem, offering an incredible variety of fresh produce, artisanal goods, and delectable food options. What really sets Duncan's Saturday Market apart is the sheer diversity of its vendors. From organic farmers to small-batch distilleries, there's something to delight every palate. I was blown away by the selection of locally-grown fruits and vegetables - the vibrant colors and flavors are a world apart from the grocery store. And the craft distilleries and wineries offering tastings and sales are a real treat for any oenophile. One of my favorite aspects of the market was how dog-friendly it is. As I wandered through the stalls, I couldn't help but smile at all the adorable pups accompanying their owners. It created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. While I unfortunately missed out on the famed donuts from the market's donut stall (they were sold out by the time I arrived at 10:30am), I was still able to enjoy an incredible lunch from one of the many food trucks on site. Overall, Duncan's Saturday Market is a true celebration of local artisanship and community. The drive from Victoria is well worth it to experience the energy, the flavors, and the sheer joy of this vibrant market. I'll definitely be making it a regular weekend trip.

Highly recommend as the best farmers market on Vancouver Island, so we drove almost an hour from Victoria to Duncan to check it out on a Saturday. The market iss open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., which definitely allows for more visitors. Large market spread out in two directions. Dozens of farm stands, baked goods, a few food trucks, some artisans, etc. We purchased fresh blueberries, sweet carrots, baked goods and enjoyed live music and the general festive atmosphere. It definitely was our favorite of the farmers markets we visited on Vancouver Island.

Excellent and very friendly casual walkabout amongst locals both producers and buyers. Wonderful fresh selection of real local products and matches the best daily markets of Europe. Also the downtown Duncan is made up of local specialty stores who focus on doing “one thing well” and therefore quite rightly stay in business despite the big box stores. Their success can be seen in the very small number of empty stores. Well done Duncan Downtown Merchants.

I absolutely enjoy our family outings to the Saturday Duncan Farmers Market in the town square.

Shopping at the Duncan Farmers Market enables us to support local farmers and food producers. .

The atmosphere at the Duncan Farmers Market is the perfect blend of excitement and entertainment. There’s always a crowd that’s just right. Not so many people that you can’t move but enough people to make it feel like a celebration of sorts.

Plus, as a bonus we get a little exercise walking around the market.

The prices are fair and the produce fresh. With so many vendors participating in the market there is an extensive variety of food & wares to choose from.

Even handier still many now accept...
