First off, the only product I'm interested in at these shops is MTG. My review is based 100% off my experiences at the back counter that sells cards.
Customer Service: Warp 1 has the worst customer service out of every card shop in the city. It is absolutely horrendous. 90% of the time I even come in through the back door, right beside the MTG counter and the service is still nonexistent; other than the initial "hi." From then on, it's literally a one-way conversation. I request to look through a binder or a box of cards and the guy says nothing to even acknowledge that I just asked a question. He slowly gets up from his computer (says nothing), grabs the binder/box, puts it in front of me, and sits back down (still saying nothing). Being a nice, central comic/card shop, making friends with the staff is just a given. At least from my experience with other shops. I'm a pretty talkative person, so I don't expect the same level of "interest" back, but I'm mind blown that the staff take ZERO initiative to even reply with more than a shrug and head nod at any invitation for a friendly conversation. They just always seem to be in a bad mood. You are working in the CUSTOMER SERVICE INDUSTRY. If you're miserable at your job - leave - and go mop floors for a living! I don't care how much Magic experience or knowledge you have, it's useless if you don't understand the basic foundation of having a job in the customer service industry - which is customer service.
Inventory: Somewhat average selection of display case cards, poor selection of binder/boxed cards. Seems like the only cards they carry are the deck lists for the Tier 1 Modern decks and nothing else. Looking for a $1 rare? Out of stock. Looking for an uncommon from a few years ago that doesn't cost more than $5? Out of stock. It's garbage. Instead of only buying single expensive cards, learn from your competitors and start buying collections so you actually have the cheaper cards in stock too.
Location: Fantastic. Best part about this place. Along Whyte Ave and 99 Street, it's easy to get to from the South side and easy to squeeze through downtown if you live on the North side.
The fact that I don't like this place actually frustrates me. With the great location and a surprisingly large venue for a comic shop, I would love to go there more regularly. But unfortunately, reality is that I would recommend any other card shop over this place. With friendlier employees and someone doing inventory that actually understands supply and demand, this place...
Read moreHi my name Kenny Rosenburg 𝄇 The staff are really nice except this unit made purely of muscle who wouldn't let me look at binders and then yeeted on me so hard that my left kneecap chokeslamed my right tibia backwards into the Faygo™ vending machine. After recovering from the hospital I played a game with this kid named Antoine, I remember his name because he kept calling me Antoine and instead of recording his life on his notepad he just wrote is name all over it. I didn't enjoy my time here because "Antoine" kept revealing his hand to me and then proceeding to beat me into submission anyways while spewing nonsense from his mouth. But what made me give this review a one star is not the fact that when parker rolled for first he rolled 15 dice, not the fact that Corie yeeted on me harder than the muscle man did and not the fact that "Antoine" didn't stop talking, but the fact that someone I wouldn't dare reveal their identity rounded up to ZERO! Why?!!! HOW! I'm done no one should come here. The absolute best place to meet cool people and regret walking...
