My youngest daughter and I went to see the opera (actually an operetta) Die Fledermaus and it was SO good! Since I actually performed in this opera as a younger woman many MANY moons ago, I naturally prefer the old style performances, traditional settings with the ball gowns, tuxedos etc, but I wanted to check out this modern take on it for comparison's sake. Happily, it was highly entertaining and the singing was wonderful! The lead ladies especially knocked it out of the park! And the chorus was excellent, the orchestra splendid! I maintain that the traditional atmosphere and costumes is a superior way to watch this wonderful opera, but I have to admit this was just SO much fun to watch.😅 I have bad knees and cannot do stairs, so a Jubilee staff member took a lot of time to make sure I had seats that I didn't have to climb to and she was truly an angel. Bravo! Thank you so much Julia! We had a special night and the atmosphere and the venue were terrific. They even left a bunch of masks around the waiting areas so we could have a little fun with them.🎭 We had such a good time, that we're going back next week to watch the Book of Mormon! (We might have to rob a bank so we can see more...
Read moreStaff were rude and unreasonably rigid for a family event such as a high school graduation. Was removed from the main hall seconds before my child walked across the stage, because my much younger child was not handling the noise well. No one around us seemed bothered as there was a lot of boistrous cheering going on. I understand if this was a theatre production or live performance but such rigidity for what should be a family event was very frustrating. Staff made disparaging comments to both my partner and i because we brought young kids to the event but we were from out of town and the children wanted to see thier sibling graduate. We were not the only ones asked to leave as other parents were also told they were not allowed to stay. Was not isolated to one employee either, there seemed to be a work culture at play here. Be wary when attending graduation celebrations here. Families definitely not welcome despite what the school/organizers renting the facility may say - the event staff will make it...
Read moreI love this venue for any of the events I’ve attended! I always tell people there are no bad seats at the Jubilee. The balcony seating and style of the room allow for a good view of the stage no matter where you sit. Seats are easy to get to and the friendly staff is always willing to walk you directly to your spot. The flow is also set up so that exiting after the event is easy. The stairs between the floors are wide and allow many people to exit together at once. The parking adjacent to it is also well set up. Love that there ia special event parking at a cheaper rate. And not sure why but it never seems to take long to exit. We saw Russell Peters last Friday and the sound and screens were set up so we could “see” and hear him well. (Amazing show by the way!). Currently there is some construction in the building to improve it but it was well hidden so that it wasn’t intrusive in any way.
I am always pleased when I see that an event I want to go to is planned at...
