The view is amazing. But the experience at this restaurant could be so so SO much better. RATT should be open more often given the number of students who have returned to campus. Servers would actually have time to practice improving their service level if RATT was open more than just Fridays. SU would probably benefit in restaurant sustainability, profit and customer experience from subcontracting management of RATT to a restaurant chain like El Furniture Warehouse.
One time, a colleague and I showed up for lunch and the SU president was there with a group people and even though the restaurant wasn't busy, it took them 1 hour for them to make our food. Next time, please close the restaurant to other patrons.
Another visit, I had to ask the server 3 times for ketchup for my fries - same goes for napkins and forks with other servers. There are also basic provisions and condiments that are not provided with food here (why do I have to take an elevator down to Daily Grind to get a black coffee? why does RATT not provide sour cream and salsa for nachos? why is this not disclosed on your menu? Why is there not a single salad on your menu?)
When the manager walks around and asks how everything was, I usually feel like saying "well, I'm not hungry anymore". They took a dive bar and...
Read moreI really hate having to write this bad review, however I feel like other people with celiac disease or gluten intolerances would appreciate this knowledge before going to this restaurant. After specifying with the waitress that I needed my meal to be gluten free, it came out with a bun. The waitress at this point was really good about it and took it to the back so I assumed she would make me a new meal. However, when it came so quickly I questioned her on whether it was a new meal or if she just took the bun off. She informed me that she just took the bun off. I told her that I wouldn't be able to eat it based on my condition and then she began to lecture me on if I am "TRUELY" celiac I shouldn't be having a meal here at all. She basically made me feel that if I was okay to eat here, I would be okay to eat the gluten contaminated meal. Eventually she stopped arguing with me and brought me a new meal. I was surprised when my bill came and she did not offer me any sort of discount for the inconvenience. I will definitely not be returning to this restaurant in the...
Read moreThis was my first time here, view was good but service was not the best. I guess it depends on who’s your server. My friends and I ordered burgers w fries. You’d expect fries to come with ketchup, but we had to ask for it. I also asked for hot sauce, but they didn’t have any, which I found strange since other menu items have Frank’s red hot sauce.
French fries were bland and didn’t have that hot, fresh taste.
The burgers actually look good, but the taste was not up to par. Burger buns were dry (other than the chicken burger which was fine since it was brioche). The buns were also a bit burnt, especially around the edge, so the burgers had an unappetizing burnt taste throughout.
The chicken burger was very greasy.
Our server was unenthusiastic, and didn’t check up on us often to see if we needed anything else.
TLDR, I didn’t really come with high expectations, just wanted to try it out and was left disappointed. Maybe we needed to try...
