Tugboat Bay — Attraction in Kelowna

Oh boy, let me tell you about Tugboat Beach in Kelowna! First of all, it's beefcake season all year round—and yes, we love it. The beach is practically a runway for sun-kissed, six-packed, protein-shake-swigging men who look like they walked straight out of a fitness magazine's "Hot or Not?" section. Honestly, the beefcake parade is so consistent, I'm wondering if there's a secret gym hidden in the sand dunes!

The water is as clear as my teenage angst and perfect for doing absolutely nothing in, except maybe gawking at the passing parade of muscles. It's the best kind of people-watching if that's your jam, and hey, the view ain't too shabby either!

Now, why only four stars, you ask? Well, there's a slight, teensy-weensy issue. The seagulls must've been trained by Hitchcock because they have an uncanny knack for stealing your snacks the second you look away. One minute you're enjoying your poutine, the next it's airborne, destination: Seagull City.

So, come for the beefcakes, stay for the laughs, and maybe guard your snacks like they're a secret...

Our family found this to be a GREAT place to have a family beach day or picnics any time the weather is good.

The water quality is generally quite good in this location with some exceptions. I recommend personal items be stored secure as possible while on the beach. Keep your eyes open for sharps; as goes for every beach theses days. The city of kelowna does a good job of maintaining the beach and...

We come almost every year....love this beach...great swimming area, never excessively crowded, and the Tugboat Beach food vendor serves up some delicious hotdogs and frozen lemonade...lots of geese though, so you have to watch your step no matter where you walk...great for people watching and absorbing...
