We went to the Rod Stewart concert on Nov 1 2018. We paid $200.00 each for our seats and our seats were terrible- we were right beside the stage but on our side of the arena they set up the sound equipment( the seats were great on the other side of the arena). The equipment completely blocked our view so all we could see is the back view of two of his backup singers and the drummers. There was a large video screen for viewing the performers but our seats were situated just far enough back that we couldn't see the screen. We didn't notice how bad the seats were when we first sat down because there was a curtain surrounding the stage that went up once the concert started. A couple people tried moving to empty seats but they had to come back because others had purchased the seats. I have sent a couple emails to Select Your Tickets, who said they would forward the email to the appropriate person at Prospera, but no one has replied. I attend several events at Prospera every year and never realized the lack of care when they do not deliver when things go wrong. If I had purchased inferior seats I would have blamed myself for going "cheap" but I always purchase the best seats available. This obviously shows a lack of caring from the crew that sets up the stage design etc. Update Nov 21st 2018: sent a 3rd email and received a reply back from Cheri at Select Your Tickets- she said I had to put in a complaint the night of the performance to have something done,so the complaint the next day was too late. Why wasn't I told that when I first called in. This was very poor customer service and I...
Read moreWhere to start! One star is too much. Was at a 3 day event Skate Canada International purchased tickets months ago. Still had to wait 30 min in line to enter building. Only had one door and one staff person working oh ya there was also the security guards confiscating your water and any food items you had. The ventilation in the building around food vendors is absolutely horrible had to walk though a haze of smoke and grease. Parking for events is supposed to be according to Prospera website is $15.00 per event. NOT the case parking was $4.00 per hour so for the event parking was $46.00 per day x 3. That cost more than my tickets for the event! Also Impark who runs the parking, website also states parking fee of $15.00 for event parking. If Skate Canada International is not an event I don’t know what is. They where also issuing tickets like crazy. If you got a ticket fight it. As there was no notice saying that their fee schedule was not in affect! Overall Kelowna and Prospera Place want to attract world class events. However, my experience just goes to show how small town they are and just can’t handle events in a world class fashion. Last time I will attend an event at Prospera place. Total embarrassment for all the international visitors we...
Read moreI went to see Lacuna Coil/ In Flames on May 10th. I was in the "mosh pit" and I was knocked down, and instead of being picked up or just pulled to the side, other patrons dragged me to security and I was ejected from the concert. I was not belligerent, I wasn't hurt, I just fell down. That's all.
I was with my wheelchair bound father, who had gotten on stage. I am his caretaker.
It took me an hour but I went to the door by guest services and found a security person willing to hear me out. I let them know what happened and that my father was still there. Eventually I think the head of security came to speak with me and allowed me back in the event, but at that point I had missed the ENTIRE set of the band I drove all the way from alberta to see. I was asked if I knew the names of anyone or anything that dragged me out but obviously I did not. I had left my glasses with my father and had lost my phone, so I could not see and I could not contact anybody.
The security guard that let me talk to someone, Johnny, and the head of that came to talk to me (i cannot remember their name) were the only ones that were pleasant to deal with and...
