We visited for a special birthday dinner. This restaurant has a strict 19+ policy and lists the dress code as Business Casual. Because I have food sensitivities and allergies, I emailed in advance to ask for menu suggestions. This restaurant is very allergy aware. They were able to make suggestions for me with no gluten, no fish, no mushrooms. I heard a diner at another table say she was allergic to onions and they had no trouble helping her. Our server was very attentive and ran the dining room like she owned it. Our party started with the cheese board and added charcuterie of locally made sausage. They built our cheese board with house made gluten free crackers. Sorry, no photos, ate too quickly. We had the duck breast, medium rare. Because there is mushroom in all of the jous I had mine without and it was still fabulous. Also because I was concerned about cross contamination in the fryer, my potato croquettes were pan fried, my husband's were deep fried. You can see the difference in the photos. For dessert I had the creme brule which comes with a shortbread cookie. I had no trouble finding someone at my table to eat the cookie. The creme brule had sour cherry at the bottom and was delicious. It was all delicious.

From start to finish, my meal was thoughtful and satiatingly delicious. I started with a Mr. Miyagi cocktail. A great take on an old fashioned. Snack: olives Starter: grilled octopus Main: sablefish Dessert: rhubarb with rhubarb with cheesecake and rhubarb :) I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. To be honest, I found this meal to be substantially better than my set menu meal at one of the popular wineries earlier in the week. Also, it was cheaper! I didn't photograph much as I was too excited to eat. Plus, my photos are terrible. I'm still thinking of the dessert. Chef and the kitchen did a great job! Thank you. Service was attentive and on the ball with refilling water and checking-in. Can't wait to eat here again... next time I'll have try the tapas and risotto.

***Must Visit*** After several family/friends/foodie recommendation it was finally time to enjoy this award winning, farm-to-table gem. Chef and Sommelier Mark Filatow (Wickaninnish Inn, Bishops, Diva at the Met, Fresco) strives for the freshest, locally sourced ingredients and local wines/spirits/beers. His passion for ONLY the finest truly resonates with each delicately prepared dish… Sensational! There is no secret why Waterfront Restaurant & Wine Bar is 12th year in a row “Best Restaurant in the Okanagan”! Confidently, one of our favourite restaurants we’ve had the pleasure to enjoy! 🏆🍷🍇🥂

My family and I take great enjoyment in good food. From Calgary to Vancouver, to many various destinations around the Okanagan we thoroughly enjoying exploring the culinary excellence these regions have to offer.

That being said, Waterfront Wines Restaurant is bar none, by far, the single most excellent dining establishment I and any member of my family has ever had the privilege to eat at.

The level of service is second to none. Shane, Char, and team provide an absolutely phenomenal dining atmosphere that makes us feel both at home whilst also the most important people in the restaurant. Their care and attention to detail is unparalleled and allows for an exquisite experience from the moment you walk in the door.

The sheer thought, care, and quality of food of every dish that exits the kitchen is flabbergasting. Every time I have been there has been the best meal of my entire life. I again want to stress that from a family of foodies I feel I have a good grasp on what constitutes a great meal, and Waterfront Wines Restaurant and team blows my expectations out of the water each and every visit. The ingenuity of flavour and enjoyability of the dishes they offer cannot be matched. James, Mark and the rest of the skilled kitchen team offers a level of culinary perfection that keeps us coming back time and time again for birthdays, anniversaries, and any possible excuse we can think of to get ourselves in the door.

If you are looking for the easily the best dinner in Kelowna, almost certainly the best dinner in BC, and very likely the best dinner in western Canada, look no further. Waterfront Wines Restaurant is the place for you. Honestly if you have the option to come here and you choose anywhere else you are doing yourself a grave disservice. I look forward to the many occasions to come where I will find myself in this restaurant. I will continue to provide glowing recommendations for this restaurant to anyone who will listen and I hope that if you took the time to read this review it has convinced you that this should be your obvious choice for any...

Uniqueness of this place is very impressive. Starting from location and ending up with the food. I passed this place on night one, of my stay in Kelowna. You could hear the crowd but the patio is well hidden from street pedestrians. People created very exciting and intriguing atmosphere to this place. The wine list is tremendous but unfortunately only cheaper wines are for pour. It was fairly easy to get a seat at the bar. The service is good but at the end I still dont understand who was looking after the bar? At some point one person poured me wine, then barman takes my food order, third person brings food and all of this is ok until the moment you try salmon dish they have on the menu. My expectations were high. Seeing all of this beautiful pictures and paying over $30 for a place of salmon you for sure would expect something nicely cooked and served. My disappointment was unbearable after first bite. It was deadly dried, with a taste of over burned oil. Ok, fine, I can eat overcooked salmon. I still had high Hope's for vegetables. Even though they mostly were onion, carrots and other winter vegetables. After taking second bite of veggies, I realised I was screwed. I had to eat dry overcooked, oily salmon with non any better winter vegetables, that are not juicy at all. It would be very easy to avoid all of this confusion and disappointment if they only kitchen would serve some kind of spring veggies with this dish and some airy sauce. The duck pate as appetizer was great. The dish replacement was correctly advised by a lovely waiter, who at that point refilled my wine glass. The only problem was I just had duck pate and don't want any more game meet. I placed the order, finished my wine and as soon as food came out of the kitchen,I asked it to go. I saw some sauce on the plate and was pretty sure they cooked duck to med rare even though, I never was asked what kind of donnes...

Hands down my favorite place to go for that, Mmmm MUST have satisfying meal that makes you lick your lips for hours to come. The back of house are at the cutting edge of their trade and produce flavors that would make any chef want to do a dance after the first bite!! However, I have consistently found, over the many years of coming here, that the front of staff are progressively getting more and more snobbish and that really takes away from the whole luxurious, satisfying experience; and let’s face it, you don’t spend that kind of money just for the food. At least I don’t. I spend that kind of money for the entire experience; the camaraderie with your waiter or waitress, the ambience in the room at the time, the overall mood and the food is just a portion of that total satisfying experience. Everything connecting at the same time makes the whole experience memorable, and it is memories that most people are purchasing, not just the food, when it comes to a place like this. It is the FOH staff that stops me from returning as often as I’d really like. Otherwise, I’d be going there once or twice a month. That’s only my personal opinion and perspective. Either way, I highly highly highly suggest putting Waterfront Wines at the top of your list, if you haven’t had the privilege of experiencing their food yet! Mmmmm EVERYTHING...
