It's a nice simple little park. The pier at the base of the park is nice. Depending on the wind, it can be very windy or it could blow some of the mist from the fountain on you. The trail is a little old. Some parts, the concrete has given way to weeds and grass. There is actually a family of swans here. There are signs warning park goers not to feed the swans under threat of swan removal. There's also a lot of poop on the path courtesy of the Canada Geese. Like so much, it looks like you're dancing from a fair distance away. The trails also extend around the lake with loops and bridges that double back. Read moreSerene and calm, this gorgeous lake is nothing short of an oasis in the middle of concrete in Markham. It's a treat for bird watchers, nature lovers and or just about anyone looking to recharge themselves!
The best sighting is probably, thousands of geese flying across the skies, swooping down as they head for the waters below, splashing and skidding on making their first contact with water at a certain speed and then gently gliding along the calm waters as if all that extra energy was magically tamed over those few seconds!
P.S. : Those interested in serious bird watching should definitely carry a pair of binoculars.
