Komeya — Restaurant in Markham

Summary: Amazing food! I live in the area and actually have never tried Komeya. Finally tired of my usual local spots so decided to try it out.

We ordered: food- curry chicken udon & salmon avacado w/kale noodles, drinks-tropical smoothie & ice coffee, dessert-strawberry & green tea cake. The curry chicken udon was extremely flavorful but not spicy. Think of it more as japanese curry(duh?) Small pieces of chicken, but that curry is so good. The salmon was good but obviously not top sushi grade salmon. The entire poke bowl as a whole tasted amazing tho. The kale noodles tasted delicious and i was happy with portion size. If it was slightly cheaper this would be permanent part of my weekly rotation. The tropical smoothie was just alright but that ice coffee was unique! Tasted like coffee and roasted tea at the same time. The Green tea cake was light and the perfect cap to our meal. The strawberry version is definitely the more fun option as the flavor tasted like strawberry candy. This was a big hit with my kid.

Really quick service and delicious Poke Bowl so far! I went here twice already and food is still as good as the last time I came here months ago! I will recommend to try the poke bowl with the Kale noodle it is really yummy and al dente. First Photo is what it looks like before I mixed in the sauce they provided and pull up the noodles below. The Staff is very nice and patient too! Overall it's a nice place to treat yourself once awhile! Update 3/11/2023

Small location that can be missed on Markham road and 16th if you are driving quickly. It's under apartment complexes and houses approx 20 ppl. They have iced lemon water while you wait which is refreshing. The price point for their food options are on the mod-high end. Their cuisine is primarily poke bowls with rice, salad or noodles. Their fish of choice is either salmon or tuna. Tried the salmon poke, tuna poke and sth new called the tuna kale noodles. The dishes are served with your choice of sauce. For 2.99 extra, you can get any drink you want that they offer which to me is a great deal. The noodle dish that I ate was fresh, tasty and light. The portion size was hefty but the only complaint I would have is that I would have liked the noodles to be colder. The person working there also gave us a mini dessert of an almond biscuit which helped to cut the heavyness of the food. Great food spot overall,...
