I don't normally write reviews unless I am extremely unsatisfied, which I was at this Cora's location. If I could give it zero stars I would. The food and service at this place is horrendous, and what is worse is that the staff are oblivious to it. I ordered a smoked salmon bagel, which had the THICKEST onions scattered all over it (these should have been very thinly sliced), very sloppily cut tomatoes, and a STALE bagel which tasted as though someone had toasted it hours before serving it to me. The pineapple on my plate was partially rotten (again, I don't understand how the staff could have been so unaware of this), and the potatoes were bland and undercooked. We had also ordered an eggs benedict and asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side. The hollandaise was as thick as pudding and looked disgusting. When we confronted the waiter about this, he shrugged his shoulders and responded by saying "it's supposed to look like that." Essentially, most of the patrons at our table returned their food uneaten, and the waiter did not care to ask what the matter was. Only decent thing we had were the smoothies, which were good. The staff here evidently have no clue how to prepare such food, and need to be signed up for an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

Service wise, this is probably the best place I've been to for dine-in food. I came here with my co-workers for our annual Christmas breakfast together and our waitress, Winnie, was extremely attentive to our table. Some (but not all) of the things that I noticed: - She suggested alternative dishes that were cheaper and better suited people's tastes (e.g no broccoli -> recommended Theo's) - Replacing my supervisor's old coffee with a new cup while she stepped out for 20 minutes, and timed her dish to be ready by the time she got back (hot, fresh and ready to eat!) - Gave a heads up about longer waits for dishes in advance I'm honestly hoping her boss reads this review, because I genuinely believe she worked hard for our table! I'm giving this place 4 stars because I noticed this restaurant had a bit of a smell, like there was a leaking toilet or of some sort. It was a bit off-putting to deal with, and I'm not sure why it was there. I got the Smoked Salmon Omelette with egg whites, the daily cocktail and a side of turkey sausage. These all tasted pretty great, but I do think it's a bit pricey for what it is.

Waiting a very long time to be served. People behind us in line (group of 6) were already served their food by the time we were able to order. When they were finished eating I complained to the manager and suddenly our food appeared. Eggs Benedict were cold. Waitress (Meagan) said the dishes were just cooked but obviously was lying as Eggs Benedict should not be served cold. The manager brought out freshly cooked eggs Benedict. French toast with egg and cheese inside was cold. I was told it was not hot because of the fresh fruit. I understand this to a point, but the egg inside should be warmer then room temperature. French toast was only cooked on one side. The other side was bread only, was this the way this particular dish is made? Never had French toast done like this. We had visit this location several times in the past. I doubt we will be back and would travel to another location. People pay a higher price at Cora’s and I expect a better quality meal then for the price.

My boyfriend and I usually go to a different Cora but we went to this location today because it was closer to our home.

We went in and were kept waiting to have our table despite the fact that it wasn’t busy. After about 10 minutes of standing near the entrance, this hostess finally came over and seated us. She looked really unhappy. I get that you may not like your job, but you should still provide a welcoming experience for customers who want to dine in.

And as soon as we were seated, none of the servers came today to check up on us or ask for our order.

No one served us for good fifteen minutes. I asked the girl who hosted us about taking our order, and she pointed to this brown woman with her hair up, wearing a face mask. I noticed that this woman was doing was absolutely nothing. She was standing one table away from us and despite the fact I made eye contact with her, she did not come over to serve us. Instead of doing her job like she should, instead, she was just staring at these two kids fooling around. My boyfriend and I were in awe because she didn’t do anything for 10 minutes… just staring at these kids playing around with colouring pages. It was honestly so appalling because if I were a manager, I would have fired that girl immediately. There are so many other people capable of doing their job and working hard and yet, this girl was the most incompetent server I’ve ever witnessed. We ended up leaving because of lack of service and huge dissatisfaction at the lack of consideration for guests.

To whoever the manager is, please sort this issue out because you’re hiring someone incapable of performing when there are so many other people looking for jobs and are willing to work hard and actually serve guests. We’ll definitely not come back to this...

A Cora special Breakfast priced at $12.15 gets you 1 large egg, frozen pre-blanched and mechanically processed potatoes, 4 pieces of very limp under cooked bacon, 1 sausage link, a piece of ham slightly grilled on the flat top, with a dense not fluffy pancake and some fruit filled with preservatives.

My husband and I ordered a take-out breakfast from Cora located on Markham Rd and we were very disappointed. Not only were we disappointed with the amount of food that was in in our order, but also with the total amount paid of $27!! For 2 take-out breakfast to total that amount I would expect a very full take-out box however that was not the case. The food was subpar and cold as the staff did not call us to advise that our order was ready (although we were just waiting outside the doors). My husband also had an egg shell in his dish! The food was we received was very poor quality along with the customer service. The staff seem very disorganized due to the customer volumes and I waited over 10minutes before being assisted to place my order although numerous employees looked at me and saw that I was waiting at the cash.

I am also dissatisfied at the fact that the Maple Syrup served with breakfast had a hazelnut taste to it and an Aunt Jemima syrup texture… Being as the Founder Cora is French Canadian I would expect all Cora Restaurants to serve premium quality Maple Syrup. However, this is not the case. I have had true Maple Syrup and it definitely does not taste like what I was served this morning.

After today’s experience I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. This is the second bad experience we have had and surprisingly this one was worst...

I have been to this restaurant many times before with my son and wife. Today I went with just my son. We got seated after a long pause. Once seated we waited for 6 mins or so. A couple came in behind us and they were immediately asked for coffee. They sat right behind us. I wasn’t asked for anything to drink yet, nor my son. We were not asked at this point either.

After a few more minutes a server came back and asked the same couple who came in after for their order and sat right behind us. At this point had we had not even been asked for a drink. I did notice that many of the servers and manager were in the server area browsing their phones and chatting; and the restaurant had only a few customers. So it was obviously not busy and the delay wasn’t due to that. The only other person attending tables to clean them was a “trainee.” She cleaned the table in front of us.

At this point I decided to leave as I understood that I was being discriminated against and I wasn’t about to show my son that this was acceptable. On my way out, I told the manager that I am disappointed in Coras and will not be returning. I went to an EggSmart around the corner and as one would expected I was attended to immediately with the customary ask for drink and then order. Breakfast there was good and actually cost less. I will be returning my Coras...
