Like other posters said place is clean but watch out for mislabelled/mispriced products and hard to see interac machine's interations which could set you up for a disappointing experience. Also watch out for inconsistent price reduction on expiry date reductions policies.
I told clerk the package of what was labelled as wings looked like popcorn chicken and she did fix the label but how does such a mistake even happen? The clerk at self serve, IMO, acts disengaged and untinterested and sometimes even hostile as she scans, rescans, and installs new reciept tape when prompted without speaking or replying so making the experience of being hovered over unnecessarily unpleasant and confusing. If something was mislabeled or mispriced it would be hard to verify. Interac device is placed so high you cant see the numbers in your interaction so you depend on paper receipt, and make sure to check the receipt as another poster said. As another poster said rudeness is not uncommon at this store and IMO can be intimidating and possibly a sign of poorly trained staff in customer service. Store is materially very nice but IMO store culture seems at times to be angry, disrespectful and disengaged, which could explain the strange errors that sometimes occur, IMO. Store was nearly empty and prices seemed higher than last visit. I find the shopping experience at this store is unnecessarily unpleasant and snooty even though it is a very nice store, physically but i don't think they understand how demeaning some interactions with, IMO, poorly trained staff in customer service can be, especially at the selfserve checkout where special training should be a no brainer, IMO. Of course this from company that gave out $25.00 vouchers for possible colluding on bread prices or something like that. And they put you through a bunch of hoops just to get that. So I went to Jean Coutu today instead of Pharmaprix and ignored the lost PC points opportunity and enjoyed the experience of not having sometimes rude employees hovering over me at self ckeckout. Sometimes getting points scanned at cash register is a nightmare when system goes off line, especially if clerk at customer service starts acting offended adding insult to injury. Then she said she added missing points manually and they would take 24 hours to go through but they never did go through. Do you have to be very careful at this...
Read moreThere are definite positives to this store. It's a large grocery store with a wide selection of products, which is more than enough to meet my needs. The spacious aisles make shopping more pleasant, as you don't feel crowded or constantly in the way. I also really appreciate the large self-checkout area, which is a major improvement over what the former Provigo location had. And in my experience, the counter and self-checkout staff have always been friendly and helpful.
However, there are several drawbacks, particularly when it comes to how the store is managed on the floor. The floor staff often seem indifferent to customers around them. It’s common to see pallets dropped in the middle of aisles without any attempt to make space, forcing shoppers to squeeze around them or reach over staff to access items.
Stocking practices could also use improvement. I frequently notice incorrect products overstocked on shelves, while the correct items are left sitting untouched in the overstock area above. On more than one occasion, I’ve had to reach up to grab what I needed. Thankfully I’m tall enough, but it’s not something customers should have to do. What’s frustrating is that even when this happens right in front of staff, they don't offer help.
Lastly, a recent experience stood out: I was outside the entrance, repacking my bag, and a staff member repeatedly asked me to move so he could take a photo. While I understand he had a task to complete, it felt ironic considering how little effort staff inside the store make to accommodate customers. If you're in their way inside, you're ignored - but outside, you’re quickly told to move.
Overall, this Maxi has potential, and the setup is great, but the customer experience suffers due to inattentive floor staff and inconsistent...
Read moreJust gotta share my experience at Provigo LaSalle. A couple of weeks ago, they had a great sale on pork chops, 4 days only. On March 11, 2017, I thought I'd buy some and have a nice BBQ with the family. The problem, their limit was so restrictive, there would not be enough to feed my family of 6. And this, after standing in a line that already had 20 people. To make a long story short, the store manager Gabriel had no answer when I asked what were parents supposed to do when the sales were so restrictive? Eat the meat in front of the children and say, sorry kids? He only recited details about his bottom line. Two days later I called customer service and you guessed it, Rahim backed up what Gabriel said until I stated I would advertise their great service. He then offered to escalate my complaint. So, 3 days later I spoke with Mathieu of yep... customer service. Towards the end of our conversation, he actually asked.... Did you ever think of cutting the chops in half? This from customer service of a food corporation?? Mathieu again offered to escalate my complaint after I again stated I would share this on social media. I declined. Really would there be any point? Now it seems like not only the franchise, but Provigo as a whole, has no interest in feeding families unless it is...
