My recent visit to Cineplex's VIP section was nothing short of a cinematic delight, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Darius, a standout team member who truly understands the art of hospitality. From the moment I entered the VIP area, it was evident that Cineplex not only offers an elevated movie experience but also takes pride in having passionate and dedicated staff like Darius.

We checked out the new VIP lounge the first week and it looks great! We were there one of the first days it was open, so you could tell the staff were still new and trying to figure things out. Our server was very nice and working hard, but seemed a bit frazzled. Our burger was never ordered in kitchen, which was very disappointing when only one meal was brought out. Appears there’s still some ironing out and training to be done behind the scenes. The staff made it sound like management was confusing - which isn’t something we as customers should hear.

The VIP theatres are amazing. Much larger, comfier and recliner seats, you can adjust putting up your feet, and angle of back. AND seat warmers! Roughly 80 seats in the theatre. Not a crazy large screen, but it’s not necessary in a smaller theatre.

Unfortunately the service in the theatres seems just as confused as the first week we visited the lounge. The first server couldn’t scan the coupon for a free popcorn and wanted me to pay and then contact cineplex for a refund. No thanks. Asked for a manager and another server came in and scanned successfully. Delivery was a bit of a nightmare though. Our drinks came without the popcorn the first visit. 15 minutes passed. Second visit, they brought us popcorn and a drink we didn’t order. Which we later realized we must have taken someone else’s order. We had 2 more visits of servers trying to bring us food or drinks. (That we hadn’t ordered) So there was either a malfunction in the ordering software or staff are still not trained properly and there’s a lot of confusion.

There are a lot of options for food, including healthy options which are great compared to what you can get at the regular (non VIP) Cineplex. Taste wise, it was good, but we didn’t have anything to go on and rave about (yet). We’ll have to do more exploring of the menu! The kitchen was a bit slower than expected, but this is something I’m sure will be improved with more experience.

Tip: if you like warm popcorn, order and pick it up yourself. We’ve been to a few cineplex VIP and our popcorn is always cold and sometimes not tasting fresh.

Note: the VIP washrooms are separated between women and men. (Unlike other nearby VIP theatres that have the shared washrooms but with separate rooms of toilets and sinks which are more private). They are nice and new. Built in air dryers beside sink are a little hidden, so that stumps most people.

I’m very happy to have the VIP theatre experience without having to drive so far.

Me and my friends visted the IMAX on Saturday December 17, 1:40pm Avatar show.Since its the closest one from Niagara Falls it was the only option. We have been eagerly waiting for this movie experience for a long time. Before the show they provided us with the wrong 3D glasses which is used in Avx. at first we thought it won't have any difference. when they started playing movie trailers. one of us tried using an original IMAX glass which we took from the used glass bin and found a huge difference in the visuals. So we asked for it and they don't have any more of the original IMAX ones. At last all of us ended up using used glasses from the bin

We are paying money for the tickets and travelling to this particular location to enjoy different movie experiences and you guys are supposed to provide it.😡

This was my first time experiencing 4DX, and unfortunately, it left me quite underwhelmed — not because of the movie itself, but due to the poor implementation of the 4DX effects at Cineplex Winston Churchill.

Cleanliness:

Right from the start, the experience was off. The seats were dirty, with popcorn stuffed down the sides and the area not cleaned properly. For a premium-priced ticket, this was disappointing.

4DX Effects:

The biggest letdown, however, was the lack of key 4DX features that are supposed to make this format immersive:

No water effects, despite Jurassic World: Rebirth having multiple water-heavy scenes (ocean, splash effects, etc.).

No fog or smoke effects, which should've enhanced the atmosphere during key moments.

The only noticeable effects were seat movement, some wind bursts, and a scent or two — far from what’s advertised or expected.

Overall:

The whole point of paying extra for 4DX is to be immersed through multi-sensory effects. When most of those effects are either broken, disabled, or ignored, the experience feels like a waste of money. It's frustrating to know that what was promised and promoted was not delivered.

I hope Cineplex looks into maintaining and fully enabling their 4DX systems — because right now, it feels more like a gimmick than an experience.
