I like this park i think it would be good if there was a small patrol at night because i noticed at night demons like to come out and play meaning toxic people who display toxic behaviour Even during the day sometimes. As long as there are people who disrespect themselves then there will always be people who disrespect others.i would suggest emergency buttons like on the ottawa u campus or the bus shelters but i think a small team of security would be better because the button would probably most likely be subjected to unnecessary usage by useless idiots that have nothing else better to do. Unless there are eye level cameras installed that can take pictures and a short video of the person everytime they push the button so that if someone decides to push the button for laughs or for unessecary annoying reasons then their nice little video and picture could be used to identify them and fines could he given to the culprits as a lesson for those who would think of doing this again or in general for unessecary purposes. 200$ fine for lower class people 1000$ for middle class and for higher class 15,000$ maybe more depending on how much income they get. And we can use the fine money to get the shelters cleaned up because they are infested with bed bugs and cockroaches we could also use that money to make the shelters biggers and more sanitary where people can have their own little room instead of sharing with 12 men in 9ne room were viruses and unwanted parasites would spread easier also there should be a no drug indoors policy of anyone uses indoors then they get kicked out on the street whether its cold or hot and they will have to deal with the consequences themselves. Can't let a few bad apples...

Major's Hill Park provides a nice view of the East Block of the Parliament Buildings, the Bytown museum, the Rideau canal and the Library of Parliament which is facing the Ottawa River.

This Park was formerly named Colonel Hill Park after Lt Colonel John By. However, the name was changed to Major's Hill Park when Major Daniel Bolton replaced By in his governance's position.

Major's Hill Park hosts lots of festivals and is especially popular during Canada day celebrations. In this park, there is a statue of Lieutenant Colonel John By who was the lead engineer responsible for the creation of the Rideau canal. In 1827 the newly developing site was named Bytown after Colonel By. Bytown's name changed to Ottawa in 1855.

This Hill is owned by the indigenous Algonquin people. The Government of Canada's occupation of the land remains unratified by treaty agreement.

If you like my reviews, photos or videos give them a thumbs up. Also why not ask the NCC to have the name of the park to either be changed back to Colonel Hill Park, or to Algonquin Chief Tessouat Hill. Who knows what Major Bolton did for Bytown other than live in By's old house...
