Honestly, I’m conflicted.
It’s somewhat a fine dining experience, with extremely polite and courteous staff. You will pay for this meal handsomely, but it’s not too crazy, and you should expect this. The main thing I took away from dining here is if you want a good steak, this is not the place for it.
I haven’t ordered a single restaurant steak in close to 10 years out of the fear of being disappointed. Specifically, i’ve been cooking my own steaks throughout the years, honing my obsessive need to perfect a beautiful cut of meat. I’ve tried a multitude of grades of cuts, from various sources to get a broad spectrum and an unbiased and honest point of view when it comes to cooking steaks (in particular).
I wasn’t going to order one on this dining experience, I was simply going to stick to seafood, as it’s not something I cook often, (and steak tartar which was incredible!).
I ended up caving, thinking if someone is going to cook an amazing steak, it’s probably going to be this place, considering the “chefs choice” 14oz Australian ribeye was $110.00 (not Australian wagyu mind you), but was told the marbling was similar.
This was NOT the case. What. So. Ever!!!
-Very little marbling, if any. -Silver skin throughout. -Ordered rare but not as juicy as it should have been. -Considerably chewy. -Salt was slightly overbearing. -Served with okay fries, mushrooms (which was the best item on the plate), and extremely rich (overbearing rich) garlic aioli.
Look, I’m not trying to knock the place. Again the staff were amazing, the place is gorgeous, but I’m just being honest. Do not waste your time on steak from this place. Learn from others who have tried before.
Oysters and accompaniments are out of this world amazing! Must get.
Octopus is quite spongy, (not rubbery)but the taste is there.
Steak tartar, incredible! A must get.
Bone marrow and scallops I would recommend, but the marrow need to be properly soaked in salt water for at least 12hrs to remove as much of the blood, and provide some saltiness, not just the irony marrow oil taste as of what I had received.
The bartender can make a mean $16 Caesar, so shoutout to them!
Would I go back? No. But not because of my experience. I had a great time, I did enjoy most of my plates, and I take some pride in knowing that I can cook a better $40 steak from Costco than a $100+ ‘import’ cut at a relatively fine dining...
Read moreThis visit costed us $3000 and we didn't get to eat, we lost our appetite completely. Don't bring or wear designer to this fine dining restaurant. While our appetizers were arriving, one of the servers spilled the Yellowfin Tuna Fish oil/sauce onto my phone and Louis Vuitton handbag, an essentially brand new bag that was a birthday/anniversary gift. I was distraught and trying to contain my tears on their patio, while my husband went to ask to speak to the manager or owner -- Who was not present at the time, but they gave us their event coordinators business card (not the owner or the manager). The server had attempted to clean the bag which unfortunately didn't not help the stains, but created new ones in addition to the shiny oil stains on the leather and canvas. At this time, one of their legends (who has been our server multiple times) tried to compensate our meal. I had completely lost my appetite at this point, and we weren't here for a free meal and it was definitely not going to make anything better. We sent an email shortly after we left, expecting this restaurant to be able to at least afford the cleaning of the bag, if it was saveable. We've come to this restaurant pretty frequently in the past 3 years however, for a place that we have spent a minimum of $300 per visit plus tip and refers to themselves as fine dining restaurant, they handled this situation in such a low-class way. It's been over a week and we still haven't received a response taking responsibility or even acknowledging the incident. We definitely weren't going to hold our breath waiting for this restaurant to respond, and scheduled the appointment for repair at Louis Vuitton. We won't be coming again, and we recommend if you're looking for fine dining with a similar menu, go to Mati, Shore Club, Riviera, or Beckta. Even Luxe across the parking has a seafood tower :) accidents happen, but when they do, you should definitely take responsibility and find a way to fix it in the appropriate...
Read moreNot recommended at all. Will NEVER visit again. BAD experience. We were excited because of the good reviews, but it turns out to be a huge disappointment. We ordered Caesar salad and foie gras as starter, and my friend found a blond hair blended(not on the top) in the salad which was very gross, and the foie gras was pretty average, however this is not the end, soon after we have the bread basket, we found a short black curly hair blended in the cream butter, cannot image how dirty their kitchen are...we tell the server about this and she said their are very sorry and she said this is definitely unacceptable...the. She told us the salad is on the house. Then our main dish came, we all ordered medium, but for me the beef was overcooked and dry, I asked the server, is this medium or medium to well done? She said ohh sorry this is medium to well, and said she will let the kitchen know. (we didn’t ask them to redo any of the dishes.) The server came and let us know that everything is on the house and we only need to pay for the drinks. The server looks really sorry, so I said her drink recommendations are good. However guess how much we paid in the end? We paid $200 plus the tips. The server in the end showed us the receipt, everything is 50%off and the waive for the salad and bread(Not everything on house as the server said) To be honest we are willing to pay $400 for a rly good dinner but this is obviously not worth it. Their attitude and the service was rly confusing. I doubt if they even remember they said everything is on house in the end. will call this a rly bad night at this restaurant not only because of the bad food but also the unpleasant and disrespectful service we got. Will never visit again, I’d rather...
