Okay so this is how it went… We were meeting up with girlfriends for galentine and one of our friends had arrived at 5:45pm and the two of us came around 6pm, 15 minutes had passed by and there was no one to check on us!!! I had to get up and ask for a MENU around 6:15… Then we get our menu 10min later with our water and the person who got us the menu wasn’t even taking care of our table.. so we didn’t see our waiter/ess at all. Then I have heard someone behind and I got their attention, it was Kristina/Christina, we have asked her if she knows who is in charge of our table and that we are ready to order mocktails. This is 6:47pm (Ik because I was complaining to mom via text). Then she comes looking confused and asks if we wanted ONE mocktail and we said, no we want 3 hence the 3 of us there at that time. Another 20min passes by and she comes checking if we got our mocktails and or if we’re ready to order food…. We told her that we haven’t even placed ANY mocktails and that we didn’t even order the 3 Lavender ones… she offered us a free mocktail after all of that. And then we properly place our drink order and our $22 calamari appetizer (you can see how sad cold and dry it looks in the picture) and our main plates. Drinks and calamari arrive at around 7:32pm!!!! (Almost an hour after ordering). Food got here at 7:53pm and one of the dishes was late 15 minutes and got offered another free mocktail. and the food wasn’t good at all, the pasta was dry and the chicken parm was slightly pink, it was just disappointing after waiting that long. And the blackened chicken sandwich was okay without the bread, I couldn’t even bite through it because of how hard it (just very stale)! Overall such a bad experience. We couldn’t wait to leave. This is not my first experience there. I have been there before during the summer and daylight and it wasn’t busy at all and the food still took more then an hour to be prepared but we wanted to come again for the vibes and to give it another chance… but sadly it was super expensive and not worth it.

This is the worst restaurant I have been to in Ottawa! It took an hour and a half just get our drinks and appetizers. Another hour to get our main dishes. Service was extremely slow, she walked around like a sloth and was never prepared, ever. My shrimp was way over cooked. The blackened chicken was ok at best. The fish and chips were alright. The calamari was so rubbery, the bruschetta was nothing to rave about, just tomatoes on a fancy toast with balsamic drizzle. When we asked to speak to the manager about what’s happening that night, him and the servers were doing the cooking!!! The chef decided not to show up! What is normally is an hour and a half to maybe two hours for a nice meal took three and a half hours of pure torture. We tried to sing happy birthday with the god awful cake that was served and was rudely interrupted by the manager, you could’ve waited until the song was over. When settling the bill, it cost us $117 (our pop was compensated for the awful experience, laughable). We handed over 2 $100 bills to pay for our food, the server had the audacity to ask if we wanted our change! What the hell?! You are not getting a 83 dollar tip when we had to wait an hour and a half just to get a Pepsi from you! She continued to ask how much changed would we like back, we said all of it, she didn’t bring us back our change, she cried in the corner and let someone else bring it (we did tips still). I hope your service gets better madam. We will never recommend this place and will tell people to avoid at all cost. Never in my years have I ever been to a very unorganized restaurant. When I spoke about this place to others, they told me exactly what would happen if I did, they were right. Slow service, terrible food and you have to wait forever for anything and that’s when they went two years ago and never went back. Even the Ottawa Citizen did a review in the paper and it was not good then either. If you go, I warned you.

Worst experience ever. Don’t waste your money here, never coming back. First of all, we walk in and sat down, no water, no menus provided. After 30 minutes of waiting to be served we had to ask someone for menus, mind you there’s 2 waiters just standing and chit-chatting at the front (they’re not busy but too busy for us). The waitress named Christina comes to help us (not helpful had a bad experience with her). We look over the menus decide what we want and wait another 25 minutes, no one comes back to check on us we had to again go ask someone to help us as we were ready to order appetizers and drinks. We specified we wanted to order some mocktails the waitress said “okay” and walked away and then another 25 minutes pass we ask the waitress AGAIN if we can order she said she already placed the order and we said we did not tell you what we wanted, she was like oh I assumed you wanted the lavender mocktails so I order 3. We said no, we told you we were ready to order some mocktails from the menu of multiple mocktails. She finally took the proper order and we placed an order for calamari as well. 15 minutes later (after sitting for more than one and a half hour) we finally get the drinks and another 20 minutes later we get the saddest portion of dry calamari ever. The rings were tiny, chewy, and had no flavour for $22 I swear they gave 10 tiny tiny rings the same size as peach fuzz ring candy it was ridiculous. Finally placed the order for dinner, another 30-35 minutes later the most bland food comes. The Alfredo sauce is dry and has no salt, the chicken parm was slightly pink inside, the bread on the sandwich was sooo stale and hard couldn’t even eat it bite into it. If you want pasta, go to red lobster I swear at least you’ll get your money’s worth cuz the food here was horrible. All of this happened from 5:30-8:30pm. Sat there for 3 hours and wasn’t even helped properly until an hour after sitting. Felt like we had to beg to be helped. I wanted to get up and leave so badly. We chose lavender grill because we were so excited about the beautiful atmosphere and to enjoy a good night out but we left with such a bad experience and unsatisfied with the food. I would never come back and recommend you not to. For the prices they charge, go somewhere better for good service and...

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of hosting my best friend's bridal shower at the beautiful Lavender Grill and Lounge. From start to finish, it was perfect. The first day that we went to scope out venues, the Lavender Grill stood out. We were immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant by such friendly staff. Even though we told them we wouldn't be staying long and were just checking out venues for a bridal shower, they were still so kind to us. They offered us a table and menus and allowed us to check the place out. We ended up ordering very pretty and tasty lavender-coloured drinks and the servers were so attentive, chatting with us and sharing their genuine excitement at the prospect of hosting our bridal shower. All of the staff there talked so highly of the restaurant and they seemed very proud to be working there. It felt almost like a family. Everyone's genuine kindness and the beautiful decor made it an easy decision to choose the Lavender Grill to host our bridal shower. I think this speaks to the amazing general manager, Hano, who was so accommodating during my email interactions with him back and forth planning the shower. He was so professional and courteous and very helpful on the day of the event. I must also mention Yilmaz who welcomed us with open arms on the day of the event and never hesitated to offer his help during the night. Radia, our server for the event, was phenomenal. She was so so kind and helped make sure everything ran smoothly. Her bright smile and warm personality was so refreshing. I have to also thank the other staff that were there who were not responsible for our tables but who still offered to help us set up - everyone there is so unbelievably kind! We left the event feeling so elated and grateful to this wonderful establishment, who really go above and beyond with their customer service and treat you like family. I also cannot forget to mention that their food is AMAZINGLY delicious!!! We shared multiple appetizers and I had their filet mignon which was cooked perfectly how I like it. What more can you ask for in a restaurant?! Delicious food, delicious drinks, beautiful decor and atmosphere, exceptional staff - I am so glad I found this gem of a place and I already can't wait to...
