York Cinemas — Attraction in Richmond Hill

This is obviously a rare situation at the theatre but training to staff in such event is so Important and this management failed miserably today.

The fire alarm went off while the movie was playing and the staff handled the situation extremely poorly. Looks like staff were not trained how to behave or handle in such emergency situation. Luckily it was a false alarm but staff should pause movie in all theatres immediately and open auditorium and announce to the audience that it is a false alarm and assure not to panic. But they didn't do anything. I went out and asked a staff is everything okay should we leave the theatres and he did not even say a single word. Not professional at all... He just went and opened the doors and didn't inform anyone what's going on. The people walked out of the hall and another staff just asked no no go back its a false alarm so everyone came back in. For 25 minutes the alarm continued to ring while the movie continued to play...... 😳 Like seriously? Even if it's a false alarm no one in the right mind would continue the show with such noise. They wouldnt let us leave or pause movie until its resolved. After 25 minutes the fire Marshall's came and shut down the movies and took some time before the alarm were turned off and continued the movie.

At this point any professional place would give the customers some kind of refund on their tickets or give them a ticket for another movie as a form of apologizing for the nuisances. But no nothing like that nor even an appology.... 😒 Horrible experience and never going back to this place. I went to theatres after five years and came back with a huge headache!! You must train your staff incase of emergency what to do and you should put a big sign at the entrance if fire alarm goes off everyone must evacuate building immediately unless directed by staff. Had expectations about theatre as my brother said Palace screen and sound system was good when they watched Pushpa in there. Kgf2 telugu is screening in Paradise thought it would do justification for the name but not even closer.Here's the list: 1.)Terrible sound system that feels like local dj on the streets back home. Watched 2nd time and honestly i felt like im watching horrible movie because of sound system most of the time suffered headche 2.) No ac or air circulation literally its suffocating in there and on top it felt like warm if tgere is circulation probably heater might be on.Come on dude its spring atleast set the room temp to 71 or 72F.. 3) no tissue rolls in washroom and im not talking about cleanliness its to the next level but i understand atleast replace tissue rolls so people can make use of having washroom. Watched movie first time in Albion much better and watching same movie 2nd time here completely changed my mind are these same movies? Very bad customer service provided at this theatre. I came 10-15 min before the showtime for Uyare 9:30 show. And I got tickets after 10 mins of the showtime. Not because of too much crowd. But because of lack of employees at the cinemas on Friday evening. Hate this theatre now. I was regular customer. But this is unexpectable. Whoever this manager had no respect for it’s customer. After 45 mins delay for this movie. He didn’t even bother to come and respond to the us. We had to deal with one employee for all this matter. Especially after this incident I will never suggest this theatre to anyone.These people are the worst. When they know they hve shows till late night. I don’t understand, why these people don’t keep enough snacks for people at night shows. This is the third time when they have said that they don’t have mutton rolls and said samosas are done for the day And ironically there is never a manager present near the couter to complain about anything going on in this cinemas.
