Needs some reno to refresh shopping experience.
When Parker Place first opened in the 90s it was a HUGE deal. They have the cutest Japanese stationary shops, trendy fashion stores, bubble tea, cool shoes, quality authentic Chinese food and more. As the years went by the mall kinda stayed in its 90s glory days. The walls, washroom stalls, store signs and food court all looked worn out. Even though there are a few new stores and one or two hip food court vendors, it is not enough to refresh the 90s deco. Unlike it's neighbor Aberdeen center which was torn down and rebuilt from scratch, Parker Placer feels like it's still running on analog rather than digital. The visitors I see are mostly in their 50s and up. I know a few senior Uncles who love to eat at the food court because "it is the cheapest food court food in the area!". I go there only to meet up with my senior uncle for a quick bite. A positive note is the parking seems to have improved over the years. Next time I will have to try something else as they have varieties of food that I haven't tried. The problem was just that the sitting area was very very limited, there were not enough tables and chairs to sit on, people were like waiting on your sides to take over the tables, only few people speak English, and sometimes they don't wait in line property. Parking lot was also hard to find. These alone can discourage people to visit Parker Place mall, so hoping they can solve the problems in the...
Read moreOne of the stores sells very fresh vegetables and fruits even though they are slightly more expensive than usual. Good quality. Another shop sells fresh cooked roast pork but you must queue for ten mins at least. I will pass. Once I was waiting with my godmother during mid autumn festival for over an hour and half. It was not fun at all. Standing and waiting at the hallway. Very slow and I had no idea why it took so long to cut those cooked meats. Anyway, it was once happening to me. I will make sure it never happen again.
The food court provides various choices and quite often we go there for afternoon tea. Plenty options suit everyone and they are very reasonable. Fir example, Macau pork chop with rice noodle and a cold lemon tea drink only cost you $6.50....
