I just visited this location with my son to pick him up some pop. He wanted to use his "credit card", what he calls his debit card. He is special needs and id enjoying learning about shopping.
Well he sure got a lesson in rudeness tonight.
After we had grabbed the pop that he wanted and headed to the counter, the employee, who identified herself as "Stacey" later, wnt to the till to ring the purchase up. As she was doing this, my son mentioned about using his "credit card" to pay. Now have in mind, I am standing right right at the edge of the counter. I state out loud, not privately, that I would be needing to split up the payment using multiple forms of payment. I do not recall my exact words. I then opened up my banking app to see how much money he had in his bank account to use so I could tell "Stacey". I was about to tell her $3.20 when I noticed, without waiting for me to give her an amount or asking what type of payment (cash or card), she had sent the full amount to the debit machine. Recall, I had previously said openly that I needed to split up the payment. I pressed the cancel button and was about to tell her the amount of $3.20 when I saw that she once again, sent the full amount to the debit machine. I looked up at her and I believe I cancelled the machine again at the same time. I then showed her the bank card and said "three twenty" ($3.20). She gave me this nasty look and flicked her head back and forth making nasty, rude sounds. I believe I again showed her the card and said "three twenty" ($3.20). At this point, I believe this is where she repeated back "three twenty, three twenty, three twenty what?" all with a smartass tone and attitude. I just looked at her in shock. I believe I then said "What's with all the attitude?". I get back "You're the one with the attitude! Three twenty what?". I said "Three twenty on this card please. Unbelievable." I then believe this is where she said something to the effect of "You could have said that before! Given me more details like a full sentence.". I then tried to restate the order of events to her regarding me having to cancel the initial debit transaction and her reentering it, but she was having nothing of the sort. She raised her voice, and proceeded to talk over me. It was like she was trying to exert her dominance over me, the customer. All I can say is total shock. She then entered $3.20 into the debit machine and once again, just to throw her attitude around, "There three twenty!". At this point, it was best that I just shut my mouth and let her dig herself in deeper. Without speaking to her anymore, I looked up at the screen to find the amount left owing. It was $3.56. I reached into my pocket and pulled out four loonies. I laid them on the counter, spread out to show there were four and said "Four dollars". She picked them up, retrieved my change and gave it to me. I placed it into our change holder, and placed it into my pocket. I stepped away from the counter. I then opened my phone, started making a note, asked for her name, which, as I said before, she stated was "Stacey". I never confirmed the spelling as I did NOT want to speak to this person any further. I then closed my phone, put it away, and proceeded to gather my son and leave the store. As we were leaving, she blurts out, in a snappy voice with a ton of attitude, "Have a nice day" or maybe it was "Have a nice night".
I have done my best to state the events as to the best of my recollection. I usually wear a body cam just to be able to provide proof of incidents like this, run-ins with the "drug users" in our neighborhood, or other events. I did not have it on as I would have NEVER have imagined I would need to have a recording of how rude an Avondale Store attendant would treat me. From this day forward, I WILL be wearing it into every store (especially Avondales) I visit so that there is proof, audio/video evidence, to verify how rudely some employees treat a businesses customers.
Whether anything will be done...

Read moreSupposed to be 24hrs my friend was outside waiting while the girl walked around the store and flat out ignored her, and when she called to ask if she was going to be let in, the female cashier just hung up in her face. On a side note another male customer apparently returned to see if she opened the store as she was apparently “closed” for the last 30 minutes. Horrible service, do...
