In the basement of the St Andrew’s Presbyterian church in downtown Toronto you will find a hidden gem, that is the 48th Highlanders Museum. The history of brave men and women who serve and have served are will represented in this small but thoughtful museum. Staff here are friendly and enthusiastic wanting to share their knowledge and the pride of this regiment.
I recommend this museum, especially for those who are interested in Canadian military history. Check out their sliding cabinet of metals, very impressive

Museum is free but please donate to this guardian of Toronto History.

The museum was staffed by volunteers, who were super friendly. They proactively welcomed me, gave me explanations, and answered my questions. One of them told me about a funny anecdote from the time the late Queen Elizabeth II visited in the 1990s. They have a wealth of information about the museum, the collections, and the regiment itself. Do engage with the volunteers when you visit. A gem...
