We came here like 2 weeks ago and had a reservation. Despite this, we still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Kinda pointless to have a reservation if that's the case. When our server came he took our drink orders...my friend and I ordered bellinis. Although they were delicious, they were impossible to drink due to the paper straws with tiny holes. If they are going to use paper straws at least get ones with bigger holes for frozen drinks...anyway, the straws fell apart so we just asked the server for other drinks instead (non frozen ones). When it came to ordering my main dish I was contemplating between the oven roasted chicken or the fried chicken sandwich - whichever one was chicken breast. I preferred the fried chicken but asked the server if it was chicken breast or thigh (I personally hate thigh meat). He said, "I am pretty sure its breast meat." So I asked him to double check with the kitchen to make sure. When he came back he said it is, "most likely breast meat but could be thigh depending on what the kitchen has"...ummm if he asked wouldn't he know whether they'd be using thigh or breast meat? I asked him again and he repeated the same thing but said that he was 100% sure that the oven roasted chicken was breast meat so I obviously got that. Turns out that the fried chicken WAS fully breast meat because my friend got it and I was eyeing her sandwich the whole darn time! (if only this server was not so incompetent in asking the kitchen...). Anyway, my dish was ok. The chicken was juicy and tender (but I had trouble believing it was a double breast as the menu described since it was tiny) and the ancient grains were great but the vegetables that it came with were awful and lacked flavour...they were also too tough to cut or let alone eat (the stems were VERY hard)...not a pleasant experience and I honestly did not feel full after my meal despite it costing more than the fried chicken sandwhich that I could have gotten all along had the server properly asked. When the server came to check up on us I told him how difficult it was to eat the veggies...impossible to cut the broccoli stems and he handed me a steak knife...which didn't exactly help with chewing them. Overall, I wasen't the biggest fan of this place...I prefer other Moxies locations over this one.

CB and I dropped into Moxies – University for a quick bite before heading over to the Bell Lightbox for a 7 pm screening of “A Nice Indian Boy”. We made our reservation for 4:45 pm as we wanted to order by 5 so we could take advantage of their Happy Hour specials. Perhaps not surprisingly given the hour, the restaurant only had a handful of patrons when we arrived. Once sat in a booth, we quickly looked at the Happy Hour menu, which offered a nice selection on the savour and share menu: tacos, truffle parm fries, smashed avocado dip, dry ribs (from a previous visit I know these are tasty and quite filling) roasted tomatoes/feta, calamari and shrimp, bacon cheeseburger, cashew lettuce wraps and steak frites. We landed on their Bacon Cheeseburger special - $19.00 including fries. I opted for an upgrade to sweet potato fries. Our server soon brought us still waters and took our order. For drinks CB had a 16 oz Big Life Euro Lager for $5 and I had the classic Caesar special for $8. There were other house highballs, cocktails and wines BTG on special, as well as ½ price bottle of petit Chablis or Cabernet Sauvignon. We considered ordering an appetizer knew this would be too much. Our burgers arrived in good time and on HOT plates. YES ! One of my pet peeves is a hot entre delivered on a cold plate. The burger was a good size and obviously prepared from fresh ingredients. We both received a generous portion of our respective fries, ketchup a mayonnaise-garlic dip. The meal was maybe more than we needed before heading to a movie but was nevertheless enjoyed. When we departed at 6:30 the venue had filled with a mixed crowd, including a table full of kids. I overheard the server telling “mom” that kids get a free orange juice when ordering from the kid menu. She liked that idea. In summary, Moxies’ Happy Hour was a good choice ahead of our movie. The service was fast and pleasant, the meal tasted great. Their regular menu offers a much wider selection of appetizers, soups and salads, vegetarian options as well as steaks and pasta bowls. Not a bad spot to visit when you have more time. And if you have kids, remember they get a free drink.

Yes, I just went to Moxie’s for lunch as I do 3/4 times a week with my staff I’m a stager and I bring my movers and staff there for lunch. ( whichever one is located near where we’re working they love Moxie. They work hard for me. They deserve what they want . I go to the Dundas Square one ..the first to arrive of the team. I am very clear that I have come here for lunch and drinks with the six other members of my team … may I please use the facilities first don’t worry I am staying and I am eating and drinking with my stuff …goes that’s great but until you order we can’t allow you to use the washroom. I said really I said how about I give you my credit card.. no ma’am not until you purchased something or you can leave.. I asked to see a manager cause I was confused. As I respect that you own the company you can do whatever you want you reserve the right to not serve me. You told me that 12 times when I asked to use the facilities is it oh don’t worry here’s my credit card charge me for a drink so you know I’m not going anywhere no we can’t do that ma’am. What if it’s not your credit card I’m like I’m on camera for God sake . Regardless, she ran to her manager before I could even give her like order something so I could use the facilities first no go I then come out and they reserve the right to refuse service to me. I said absolutely if you don’t want my business I will leave .. then proceeded to meet me at another restaurant because I’m not really sure why it’s not like I look like I’m homeless… And Bar would let anyone use the facilities I would not care if someone was homeless the facilities more … I have spent my lunches there three times sometimes four for the last two years and to be treated like that by Dundas, where I was just shocked I client staff members and to be disrespected, even though I offered a credit card to prove I will buy something as I have six team members meeting me here and I don’t wanna message them like I just wanna give you what you want you want the bar you have you have all the power I respect that but a little respect over here. I’m sorry my American Express card wouldn’t let me use the facilities as you said that could be stolen. I was really dumbfounded at the way I was treated, but I’m I don’t even know whether to blame the managers or the staff, but there was a very entitled little 20-year-old kid that was not going to allow me to come in. I repeat I may have only head on an aloe tracksuit but that’s not cheap. It did. I did not look like I was broke. I was carrying a Gucci purse. I did not look homeless, which is the fact I have to say that I own a bar anyone could use my bathroom especially the homeless. Maybe I’m different. I don’t know … The next thing I know you know what forget it. V they can treat people anyway they want they own the place. I can honestly say I’ve never left to review in my entire life, but I was just treated so I’ve never been belittled by a 20-year-old so badly and God forbid. I say anything because I’m 56 and I don’t wanna be looked at it like a care and I’m just like yes ma’am yes ma’am yes ma’am and she’s enjoying her power as the hostess we reserve if I hear we reserve the right to serve you one more time as you’re holding an American Express card and I order whatever you want , put 100 bucks on it. Just let me use the facilities to come. I’m just Godsmack that the youth and the behaviour they don’t know the difference between doing their job and...

I went out with my wife for dinner and a show, on Sunday May-5/24 at 6:30 pm.(We have been to Moxies in Mississauga on numerous occasions, the service was excellent as was the food. )This one downtown was a horrible experience. We got there about 10 minutes late due to traffic getting downtown. We called to let them know we would be about 10 minutes late, no problem. When we did get there and went inside. We waited about 5 minutes before the hostess actually came and took us to our seats (near the washrooms) the restaurant was not busy. We waited about 15 minutes before a server came to take our drink order or even bring water. Staff had walked by us and it was if we were invisible. Finally our server (Rachel) came by, did not apologize for the wait or anything. She took our order of drinks and food. Probably waited for 5 minutes for our drinks (water was put on the table. When our food came- steak and frites, steak and rice, it was not hot, everything seemed cool. Think it must have sat there waiting for Rachel to pick it up. I mentioned it wasn't even warm. The gentleman server (might have been a manager or assistant manager. He apologized and said it will be out quickly. Not bad coming out with our new orders. It really wasn't much better. The fries were hot, that's about it. I didn't want to complain again as I normally do not say anything. I ordered another beer, sat there a few minutes, nothing. I went out for a smoke, came back in, still no beer. So I went the bar and ordered it, I said maybe Rachel forgot. The bartender just looked at me and walked away ( I was getting really ticked by then, she walked around the bar and picked up my beer that was sitting on the bar and brought it to our table, didnt say a word. Rachel was not very busy, she was very pleasant with other customers. We wandered why she wasn't to us. We were polite, we didn't understand it. I had to call her to get our bill, she brought it to us, disnt say a word, not a thank you, have a good evening (she hadnt seen the receipt back to her.We normally tip 20% or higher, but, we didn't leave a tip this, First time ever that neither my wife or I didn't leave a tip ( I used to work in the food industry years ago. I would have given a zero for service and food, but, only a 1 star. We will never go to that Moxies...
