If you don't give a damn and just want to sing some Karaoke, this is a decent in and out place. But that's all it is-- decent. It's underground, so you won't have any reception in your private room. The machine is full Korean, the staff told us it would be too difficult to explain how to use most of the features, so they showed us how to enter numbers of songs and add them to queue, and how to skip. We thought that was fair enough at first.
But it gets more inconvenient. The only way to browse songs were from a couple giant books. Songs are listed alphabetically by song name. There are no romaji versions of songs, or even for the book; everything is straight kanji/hangul.
The room had no air conditioning. Everybody consistedly took fresh air breaks, so we were barely all together through the evening. The "couches" were broken and sinking in. There were a couple giant holes in the wall. By the end of the night, it felt like we were a bit overcharged than expected. The bill cannot be split at the end either.
I feel like I'm being super generous giving this a 3, but honestly despite all this, we found a way to still have a really good time. So like I said, if you only care about finding a place to sing your heart out last minute, this is a fair option. If you're trying to organize a birthday thing and you want it to be nice, this is probably not the...
Read moreI had a good time with my friends, but it had nothing to do with the place itself, which was terrible.
When we booked the reservation, they wouldn’t tell us the price, which should’ve been the first red flag. It ended up being $100 per hour, cash only! We were in the “VIP” room because we were a big group, around 12, but the room was super cramped. The furniture looks like it was taken off the street, not comfortable at all. When we passed by the other rooms, they looked to be of the same quality as “VIP” and not that much smaller. The place in general felt pretty dirty. At one point in the night there was a horrible smell, don’t know where it came from.
Drinks were also very expensive. Beer was okay at $6, but the soju was $23 and shots were similarly expensive.
Additionally, the lyrics were not correct for some of the songs. For one song we sang in English (or was supposed to be in English), most of the lyrics were straight up incorrect, or in Korean. Another minor thing, some of the songs sounded…off. Like the instrumental felt like a cover.
Lastly, we were interrupted halfway through and asked if we were planning to add on another hour, as there was another group trying to book a reservation. I hope they went somewhere else. We will not...
Read moreWORST PLACE IVE BEEN. We ended up here because the other spots were full... should’ve known not to trust a spot that doesn’t even have a website that has its rates on it. It’s cash only so they can get you on the ATM fees. It was $40 an hour (there was 3 of us, 2 of our friends joined later on) - most expensive place I’ve ever been especially for a small room. Soju was $20, also a rip off. They just sent us into the room with zero assistance. Never came and explained how things worked until we asked. Had a very old school system where you have to find numbers off a huge book and type it into a giant calculator looking device with Korean words on it. You can tell the karaoke music was bootlegged because all of the MVs were weird Korean videos. Rooms are super hot because they probably cheaped out on air conditioning. Highly NOT recommended. Never ever...
