I had the pleasure of staying at the Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel in Toronto, and I must say that it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the hotel's luxurious ambience and exceptional customer service. The hotel's location in the trendy Yorkville neighbourhood is unbeatable. The area is filled with high-end shops, restaurants, and bars, and it's only a short walk to the subway station, making it easy to explore the rest of the city. The room itself was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities one would expect from a top-tier hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were of the highest quality. The bathroom was spotless, and the toiletries provided were top-notch. The hotel's fitness center is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel. The equipment is all brand new and well-maintained, and there are plenty of machines and weights to ensure a great workout. The pool area is also beautiful and relaxing, with plenty of loungers and towels. The staff at the Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was enjoyable. They were always available to answer any questions or provide recommendations, and they genuinely seemed to care about their guests' experiences. Overall, my stay at the Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel was nothing short of fantastic. The hotel's location, amenities, and exceptional customer service make it a top choice for anyone visiting Toronto. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in the city. If you are single and reading this, I am waiting for invitations to come back! My wife and 1-year old baby and I had an 8-night stay here and in that time we had: - No hot water for one night - Power outage and no AC for one night - Leaking toilet bowl one night - Loose fittings in the room that weren't repaired despite several daily requests to management - Pre-requested items (crib and extra linens) had to be asked for again on arrival at 10pm I was hoping that post refurbishment a lot of the age issues from the hard product would be fixed and chose this venue over the other IC in Toronto but alas, this was not the case and unfortunately by the fifth night of our stay it seemed that management had given up trying to apologise what clearly was a poorly fixed up hard product. Had I been on my own I could have forgiven most of the above as the teething problems of a hotel one month after a refurb program but with explaining that I had a one-year old toddler running around the management simply offered to send engineers to look at issues rather than wholesale move us to another room despite the clear health hazards to a toddler or loose fittings and leaky toilets. On checkout they offered to comp us on a few meals we had in-house but in reality I found this stay to be highly disappointing for the hard product and in future will probably actively avoid this hotel if I can in favour of other comparable in the vicinity. I would like to commend the 'on the ground' staff (in particular Orson Tsoi and Lionel Castelino) for being very helpful and responsive to our needs as a young family but on this occassion I felt the stand-offishness and general indifferent demeaour of senior management (Rolf Kenda, FO Mgr) fell far below the standard expected. After all, who offers via email to simply SHAKE THE HAND of a guest right after they have received yet another complaint about their hotel?!!?
