Some of this may not sound like the rave review it is, but hear me out. I’m in my 40s and am a very loyal Bonvoy patron. I also spent 163 nights at a Marriott property last year… That being said, I am loyal to Marriott for a number of reasons, they have an excellent point system and value for their points, but I know I can trust in the caliber of quality and service I get at each property. I am rarely disappointed. W Toronto was no exception. Checkin was seamless! I was able to go straight to my room with my mobile key, which also worked in the elevator! It doesn’t always, so I was grateful for this! After a long day of travel, I don’t really want to talk to anyone. My room was quite comfortable, even though the mattress was very firm and I prefer soft, I sleep like a baby here. With automated drapes to keep light out and sheers for privacy, I was able to sleep more than I usually do. I took advantage of my terrace and took my coffee and video conference calls there every morning. Room service breakfast for these occasions were clutch. Sometimes pancakes, sometimes avocado toast, without the toast… depending on my carb mood that day. Room service options were the cherry on top! I ordered the buffalo wings. These took me back to the days in my 20s where the only thing open at 2:00 am, after the clubs closed, was Denny’s. I used to order the buffalo chicken strips with ranch and smothered cheese fries. Now in my 40s, I need to watch more what I put in my body…. But man did these take me back! It was different then, wasn’t worried about fats, breading, spice that gives me acid reflux… getting oldER sucks. But these wings… WOW! They were the perfect combination of crispy and saucy! I’m used to one or the other. I got to have both. The only drawback is the buttermilk ranch has dill. I’m not a hater, I love dill, however, it is one of those overpowering spices, so all you taste is dill. Luckily the wings held their own and didn’t need the ranch. But wow. Evening of nostalgia hitting me all at once! Another draw back… you can only order the wings until 11:00 pm and you can only order the ice cream cookie sandwich after 11:00 pm. So I did the reasonable thing, ordered the wings at 10:30 pm and then ordered the ice cream sandwich at 11:00 pm. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

My partner took me here for a surprise birthday for a beauty-inspired high tea (also referred to as afternoon tea). The afternoon tea experience is more of a modern take on high tea. They do not utilize the traditional tiered stand, the food was served in a makeup case. For all the individuals who love makeup and skincare as much as I do; this is the place for you.Their lip products are edible which made me very happy. You can tell a lot of thought went into the preparation process. They took the time to pair the food item and balance out the flavours. Atmosphere: The hotel is very modern. The art work that they selected pairs well with the themes of the hotel. The ambiance matches the themes of the hotel. Unlike other high tea options in the GTA ,it is not overcrowded. You will be able to have a conversation with your guest. Location: The hotel is located in Yorkville. There are tons of stores, restaurants and cafes nearby. It is close to Yonge-Bloor subway station. Service: The service is impeccable. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by staff and directed to the where the high tea was going to take place. This was the only and first place where our server let us smelled the tea and took the time to explain to us the food and the tea. The staff is very knowledgable, attentive and kind. The server checked up on us. Food: The food was delicious and very memorable. The selection of tea leaves they had paired well with the food. The two food items that stood out for us were the garden pot (sunchoke puree, ranch and mushroom soil) and mushroom eclair. I loved the edible lipstick (chocolate) and lip gloss (jam).. Overall: A five star experience from beginning to finish. From concept to execution I can tell the team involved put a lot of thought in it. I look forward to coming back in the near future.

You Gotta Stay Here!! I am not a guide, just a father of 4 that travels a lot. I am a dedicated Marriott customer, just a silver at that. I booked at the W for my daughters birthday to bring her to Toronto. WOW, talk about setting the benchmark! simply blown away by the personal touch. The W reached out to me in advance by email simply thanking me for choosing W and if I knew my approximate arrival time, and if there was a specific reason for my booking. I simply replied with a thank you letting them know my approximate arrival time and that I was coming for my daughter’s 14th birthday. When we arrived reception was very warm and welcoming, asking if there is anything they could get us while we waited during check-in. A cold bottle of spring water was very refreshing. The hotel is extremely pleasing to the eye. The sixth floor reception and public area is extremely beautiful. What we found in our room blew us away. The team at W had set up a wonderful amenity for my daughter to which she was extremely surprised. It absolutely made her day. We ordered room service breakfast the following morning. It was fantastic, fast, and perfect order. The room was very well stocked with exceptional choices. The bathroom was incredibly spacious. The shower was amazing. The queen beds were more comfortable than I anticipated as the pillows were to die for. The room was extremely modernized with touch controls for everything from climate control, to lighting, power, shears, and blinds. It was more than we could even ask for. Every associate was warm, welcoming from the front desk to valet. Such an amazing stay. This is why I’m loyal to Marriott, because I feel Marriott returns that loyalty to me.

This W is apparently very new, renovated from what I was told used to be a Marriott, but there are a few kinks I experienced. I stayed on the 6th floor with a “private” balcony and it was a very nice room, but I would get a room on a higher floor if I were to stay here again. The music from the reception blasts down the guest hallway, and it’s so loud I could hear in from the back of my bedroom. I asked guest services twice to turn the volume down, but their best solution was to close the hallway doors. I think other guests complained because the next day the music was much quieter. Also, there’s no smoking on the “private” balcony even though it’s outdoors. Not worth it. If you want fresh air, there is plenty of seating on the patio by the Living Room Bar. If you want to smoke you have to go outside the hotel. A couple minor issues with the room. The front door is “wobbly” and rattles whenever someone nearby closes their door. The hot and cold measures on the shower were reversed, so when I turned the handle for hot I got cold. There’s a cool remote for the lights/drapes but sometimes it would malfunction and reset everything. The fitness center is incredible. Very spacious with towels and water provided. There’s free fitness classes on weekends as well. The location of the hotel is decent, close to the upscale Yorkville area so lots of amazing restaurants nearby. It’s also right next to the TTC subway and streetcars so getting closer to downtown or waterfront is simple. The best for last: the staff service was incredible. Very nice people who are available with whatever you need whenever you need. Truly outstanding service here.

My recent stay at W Toronto provided a comfortable and convenient experience, thanks to its modern amenities and attentive service. One of the notable features of the room was its high-tech capabilities. The automated lights and curtains added a touch of convenience, allowing for easy adjustment to suit personal preferences. Additionally, the ability to cast content to the TVs enhanced the entertainment options, providing a seamless and enjoyable viewing experience. The service at W Toronto was commendable, with staff members always ready to assist and ensure a pleasant stay. From check-in to check-out, I felt well taken care of and valued as a guest. The rooms themselves were modern and well-appointed, offering a comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. The contemporary design and thoughtful amenities contributed to a relaxing atmosphere. Dining options at W Toronto, including SKYLIGHT and PUBLIC SCHOOL, provided enjoyable culinary experiences. While the menu offerings were satisfying, there were some areas where enhancements could further elevate the dining experience. Overall, my stay at W Toronto was pleasant, with its modern amenities and attentive service contributing to a comfortable and convenient experience. While there were some highlights, such as the high-tech features of the room, there were also areas where improvements could be made to further enhance the overall stay. Nevertheless, I would recommend W Toronto to travelers seeking a modern and well-serviced accommodation option in the city.

Incompetent FO management, DM doesn’t know how to deal or speak with guests. Instead of finding a solution to problem, he was speaking nonsense and unreasonable things. Won’t go too deep into details but this is the worst ever experience. The only really good thing is the location of the hotel. Rooms are normal but all night long there is construction about which they don’t bother to mention even. Service in the restaurants and bars terrible, you need to look for the person to come up and assist you. We left deposit and we’re dining in the restaurant without any worry, however waiter couldn’t post our bill. We told him to check with reception as we left deposit (1000 Canadian dollars for 4 nights staying). Once we got back to the hotel, we found out that almost half of the hotel was looking for us to get the payment for breakfast becasue apparently they couldn’t post our chequ as 1000 dollars of deposit was not enough (we didn’t use anything else). So they didn’t risk to post one cheque when we had in our billing 1000 can dollars. Ridiculous!!!! And breakfast even worse - there is no priority for in house guests and if you didn’t make reservation (for breakfast!!!!!!), they don’t guarantee you will be seated. Which is better, by the way, becasue you can find much better options outside. And the excuse of the restaurant management: “we informed reception to inform guests to make reservations”….. well again proof of the not very high level service. Just read carefully reviews before booking this property.
