My partner and I went to watch Nosferatu at the 7pm showing last night. Two extremely intoxicated people came in about an hour in to the movie and one of them fell up the stairs twice on their way to find a seat. They talked the entire time, loudly argued over alcohol and continuously dropped things including a bottle of alcohol that spilled out all over the floor next to me. Multiple customer spoke up and asked them to be quiet as one of the intoxicated individuals yelled inappropriate things throughout the remainder of the film. However, the worst part was when we were leaving the theatre after the film ended and my partner politely mentioned to a staff member that they should be aware that there were two very intoxicated individuals inside, we were concerned they would fall on the stairs because they continued to heavily drink during the movie and were already falling upon arrival. The staff member said “thanks I’ll get a manager”. My partner went to use the bathroom and I stood by the theatre waiting for him. The staff members must not have realized I was standing nearby and heard them speak condescendingly about my partner. The staff said “it’s Nosferatu, I’d be drunk too watching it” “they probably just talked during the movie, what are we supposed to do ban them?”. Among other condescending comments and they were speaking loudly in front of other customers. A young female employee was sent in to the theatre to check on the intoxicated guests/clean because they hadn’t left yet and she came out and said “they are sitting there talking, not acting crazy”. My partner never said they were “acting crazy” but employees should be aware when someone can’t even walk and could injure themselves/others by falling. Yes this is Toronto and things happen, but this was the 7pm showing on a Thursday evening. Not a 10pm showing on a Friday or Saturday. Going to a horror film also should not give a pass for people to be yelling through the film and intoxicated to the point they can’t walk properly. Overall an extremely uncomfortable and disappointing experience...
Read moreLocated inside the Manulife Center, take the escalators up to locate this slightly awkward Cineplex location. By awkward, it's placed inside another building that other people have gotten lost and missed the theatre. Thank goodness for Manulife's information booths. Also, their theatre's aren't the Cineplex's higher incline seating. It feels more of a low slope auditorium.
For some of the shorter audience, I would straight out skip this location. If you have someone that's taller than you and you're stuck with the lower sloped theatres (like #8), and you didn't order the mid-rows, good luck losing 30-40% of the screen. Both the VIP and regular movie theatre seating were alright. Definitely leaning towards the old cinema vibes in here. It feels like they need to overhaul this theatre to be more aligned to the rest of their other chains like Yonge & Dundas or Queensway with higher viewing from all seating and newer seats. The screens feel much smaller for the depth of the theatre #8. (The picture of the seats I have are from the far back row of theatre #8).
In terms of service, they had a nice employee checking for the Proof of Vaccination and ID at the front of the theatre before entering (very great personality)! They also have 2-3 booths available to order tickets in person. Although, I highly recommend ordering ahead of time to reserve seating. They have two sets of bathrooms but unfortunately the ones located near cinema #7 & #8 were closed. All the customers had to use the washrooms by cinema #3 & #4 which caused a huge line up.
Overall, quality of the cinema could be really improved. But if you're looking for one of the older cinema vibes, this...

I chose the wrong seat but was told to go to concession to change it when the staff member had done it for me when I went to see another movie in VIP room and my seat was too close to the screen.
The staff who was assisting with seating appeared to have ended her shift because the door was left open when the movie started and a patron had to get up to close the door. Also, the two drinks orders that she took for two other patrons took forever and the server had a hard time getting it to ladies who were seated in the middle. The VIP theatres are not set up properly for serving food.
Additionally, there would also be a station for garbage and napkins and a sink for patrons to wash their hands outside. Washrooms could use urinals. It would be nice if the VIP lounge menu was available on the app, with hours and 360 panoramic view. At the concession, prices should be listed and they should introduce funky combinations such as popcorn and hot tamales. Introduce a food attraction besides the attraction. They should also be offering a container to hold the popcorn, drink and candy if they're going to sell combos. I had to manage all that while carrying my tote. If combos include a candy, why am I limited to just the first two top rows, especially when a large popcorn, drink (not even the real thing but fountain) and candy costs $26.26?! I was looking for something with nuts but couldn't...
