Today I went to Amethyst Creations in search of crystals to use for set decoration in a film. I was helped by father and daughter Brian and Ivona who were out of this world amazing. Not only did they help me find beautiful pieces (and they have so much!) , but they were so accommodating to working within my budget and helping out however they could. As myself and another customer shopping around, they chatted with us, showed sincere curiosity about our lives, offered their wisdom and actually went out, bought lunch, and then shared their lunches with us! I was blown away and so, so touched. This is the kind of service that small businesses and family-run stores can offer this city, and I am so grateful for their kindness, their time, and their sense of community. I will absolutely be back and I encourage everyone to come visit this...
Read moreThe shop is located in a great, easy access location with very friendly warm-hearted owner and staff. Brian and Jill (hope this is the correct spelling) were so kind to let us explore the whole store.
It was not only a shop visit for stones but also a meaningful opportunity to chat with Brian. My husband and I are truly thankful for meeting them. His eyes sparked when he told us about the wonderful trip and food in SE Asian countries in which one of them is our hometown.
There is an protective warm welcoming atmostphere embracing the store. The price is amazingly more affordable than anywhere in the current market. He even broke a part of the crystal I wanted to buy by flicking a fragment of it off with his finger. All in all, I stood there for 10 mins, just trying to pay. He finally acknowledged me only after the same previous lady even ended up trying to help me (and she doesn't even work there).
Awful experience. I honestly felt like I was actively unwelcome there the whole time I was there and I have no idea why. The lady who ended up actually ringing me up also tried to round up $5.20 to $6. It's only 80 cents, but I don't appreciate the dishonesty when the price tag on the shelf per gram was so clear and I was literally standing there watching her...
