Unlike other comm ctr that hosts birthday parties - the sitting/eating area and the bouncy castle was in one multipurpose room. The friend hired a balloon artist as part as her package - kids loved the novelty creations. Was a bit tight considering the number if attendees for other activities (toys with wheels). All in all still a nice place to host a child's first birthday party! Parking is tight but next to Hastings so was as to get parking and moved car into lot afterwards.

Enjoy coming down to the Hastings community centre to partake in cooking classes in Canning classes this month I enrolled in Langara I asked the staff politely if they knew how to pick classes one of them Miss Carmen volunteered and helped me finish my application for Langara I am forever thankful and grateful for this young woman Merry Christmas. The staff goes above and beyond their calls of duty. Thank you.

A happy little place with a simple but well run community centre and preschool. Great community garden space with nice open green space and tennis courts.

Hastings Preschool

My experience with the Hastings Preschool was infuriating. The lack of communication and unprofessionalism was appalling. I have for over a year tried to put my son in there waiting list have showed up in person numerous times to see if he could join the school only to find they had not put his name on the list at all. I have called and left messages during the summer (the office is closed during the summer) to have him registered for September. When September came along I called and for the first time was able to talk to someone over the phone. I asked to register my son and they said they were full. They were calling back people on there waiting list. I had informed them I was on there list for a year. The preschool starts a new waiting list without contacting previous people to inform them. I said I have left messages all summer to get on the list. I found they had not taken my sons name down yet again. They had told me they will put his name down now and they may call. I gave up and went to another...

I like this community center and I’m thankful for the affordable access to fitness equipment. However, I had a very unpleasant experience with a user who appears to coach others regularly.

The space in the gym is limited, and we all have to share it respectfully. I was setting up a mat for stretching—something I’ve seen many others do in the same spot—when this person came over and spoke to me in a rude and unnecessary tone.

In a shared space like this, I believe mutual respect and a bit of flexibility go a long way. It’s disappointing when fellow users act as if they own the area and speak to others with hostility.

It’s not about the center itself, which is great. I just hope people who use this space remember that cooperation and consideration are what make it work...

I really like the HCC. My pass expired and they kindly processed the discount anyways. The weight room is where the women's change room is and sometimes a bit of a challenge to access. The lockers, private bathroom off the locker room and sink area are always clean and well supplied. The exercise room is well equipped with a varied sample of machines. Treadmills, ellipticals, rowers, and bikes. They are all well maintained. Disinfectant is available in two places on the wall. I've enjoyed my exercise experience here every time I've been here. They also have classes but because I don't access them I cannot comment. Merry...
