Chartwell Terrace on the Square Retirement Residence — Attraction in Waterloo

I feel so lucky working here with the staff and being able to help the residents and create amazing friendships with my coworkers and the residents and their families. Terrace on the square is a lovely retirement home to live or be their for respite or even have a hotel stay. The staff is very welcoming as you walk in, they greet you with a smile, and a beverage or a snack. I have amazing coworkers in each department, we are a team, we work together as a team and we come together as a team. Working together with everyone is a blessing. I am so grateful on being an employee here and working along with awesome people. what is also amazing, is this retirement home has many different activities done on a regular basis, and the residents love it. I see so many smiles on the residents face when things pop up on the activity board. Also, the food is awesome, we have amazing chef Emma M, she is amazing , she creates awesome dishes for the residents, always makes different foods, and we have amazing staff that brings out the food to residents. We also have the best nursing staff as well, we always have a nurse on from 7-3, 3-11 and 11-7, as well have a personal support worker on to working along side the nurse on duty. Our new health manager Angelina, and she is outstanding, she goes above and beyond for us! So living at this retirement home will be the best decision you make because you have amazing people who will always have the best interest for you, they will have your back! Terrace on the square is the best place to live, the area is wonderful, walking distance to many different things to see, shopping, dining, even parks to see the animals, and in front their is water fountain which is stunning as its surrounding by flowers. We are having open house on June 6-7, come and take a tour and see for yourself, you wont be disappointed. This is why i give TOTS a 5 star rating! because...

Chartwell Terrace on the Square was 'home' to our mother for 12 years. She always wanted to live at TOTS based on her experience visiting relatives who resided there prior to moving in herself.

In her earlier years, she was able to walk to Uptown Waterloo in 5 minutes and take advantage of the mall, restaurants, and shopping, as well as get on the city bus on King Street and go to Conestoga Mall, very independently. The location of TOTS is perfect and she even had a million dollar view of Uptown Waterloo right from her own room window.

Terrace on the Square is a beautiful building inside and out, and has many amenities for the residents and their families to take advantage of including a large party room, a small private dining room, movie theater room, and a cafe with complimentary daily refreshments and snacks for visiting.

The beautiful, large dining room and great room is the center of TOTS, and is also used for regular entertainment for residents and guests including games, musicians, guest speakers, and annual celebrations for Easter, Oktoberfest, Thanksgiving, Christmas and more.

TOTS is kept very clean, the food is good, residents are well cared for and cared about, and our mom couldn't say enough about the nursing team both personally and professionally.

Management and staff are excellent at the best of times, and they deserve extra recognition for keeping staff and residents healthy and safe during this pandemic.

Our mom considered TOTS her home and the staff like her extended family. Many of the team are long time staff of TOTS, who we as a family also got to know over the past 12 years. Sadly our mother recently passed away after a long and wonderful life, and we are forever grateful to the team at Terrace on the Square that she was able to live independently in her 'home' right...

Terrace on the Square is an EXCELLENT spot for seniors to live. It is the perfect location, right in the heart of downtown Waterloo. The views from the rooms and gathering areas are superb. You have close access to shops, cafes, parks, the Senior Centre and the LRT. When you walk through the door you enter into a beautiful building with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are exceptional-very friendly, helpful and compassionate. There are various levels of assistance available as residents' needs change. Wellness staff are on duty 24/7. The dining room is a great place to mix and mingle because of open seating and open times to dine. You could always be busy with the number of activities scheduled. There is something for everyone, from Bocce Ball, Shuffleboard and Billiards to Bingo, Cards and Games, daily fitness groups and much more. Entertainment is scheduled several times during the month with a great variety of talent to enjoy. The Terrace has several common areas to relax and mingle, even a Café. In the warmer months, there is a great patio and front porch with lots of seating for the residents to enjoy the outdoors. It is a very inviting place to gather as a family, many spaces available. At the end of the day, our family is pleased that our mom has such a great place to live...
