My history with the Yoga Centre Winnipeg "Family" (for that it surely is) goes back close to two decades. My initial involvement was to manage a major soft tissue problem that plagued my entire body. At that time, and presently, to my knowledge, this is the only yoga studio in Winnipeg that offers "true" Restorative Yoga classes (Relax Deeply). These classes are "mind and body", as there is a meditative component as well. Little did I know 20 years ago that my daily existence would be hugely enhanced as a result, and so dependent on the practice, in a most positive manner. Read moreMight be a great studio, but I'll never know because the building is not wheelchair accessible. Yoga is supposed to be for everybody and every body, but apparently Yoga Centre Winnipeg didn't get that memo. They said the stairs are an indicator of whether you can do the classes, since you "need to be able to get down and off the floor," but that just implies their teachers can't modify the poses for people with different abilities.
3 stars because they did answer my email right away and were helpful in their response, but the lack of accessibility for something that's meant to be for everyone is definitely a mark...
