We had the opportunity to dine at Petit Socco for our 10th anniversary and I cannot stress how wonderful the entire experience was.

Nestled in a cozy, intimate setting, this gem of a restaurant delivers an incredible dining experience on every level. We enjoyed a beautifully curated four-course meal, beginning with an appetizer that was bursting with flavor, followed by a perfectly seasoned soup, an impressive main dish, and a dessert that was a true finale. Each course was crafted with care, and the flavors complemented each other effortlessly.

The service was another highlight: perfectly attentive yet unobtrusive. Each course arrived with impeccable timing—we never felt hurried to finish, nor did we wait long for the next dish to arrive.

The atmosphere itself was warm and welcoming, with thoughtful decor that suited the compact space. Despite its smaller size, the restaurant was well-suited for conversation, with just the right acoustics to enjoy a private, uninterrupted meal.

In every way, the evening was exceptional—one of those rare finds where food, service, and ambiance come...

We tried Petit Socco for the first time. It is a very cute small restaurant. The menu is a set menu that changes over time. We had the tempura asparagus, halibut in beurre blanc with frites, muscovy duck and beetroot, and a lemon mousse with chantilly cream. The halibut and beurre blanch was "lick the bowl clean" delicious with a perfectly balanced flavor. The muscovy duck was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The duck came with homemade bread (probably one of the best in the city) for dipping in the sauce, which tasted great. The tempura asparagus was cooked perfectly. However, using asparagus as a tempura option tastes a little odd (my preference). The lemon mousse was a very light dessert at the end, which paired well with everything. To note, the seating is close together, so it is not private/quiet. I was filled after eating here. However, if you eat large portions, keep in mind that the sizes are on the smaller side. Our server (and I think owner?) was very nice, and you could tell they loved their job. Overall, I would definitely come back to try their new menus...

This is, by far, the best dining experience I have had in Winnipeg and I will go further to say one of the best I have had period even from travelling.

The food: spot on. Deliciously layered and complex flavours, all perfectly balanced.

The atmosphere: wonderfully intimate where you feel you are at home in their own kitchen.

The service: impeccable. The descriptions of the dishes was wonderful and again felt like you were in their kitchen at home.

The wine pairing option was phenomenal where each wine perfectly complimented and enhanced the dish it accompanied.

This is a true gem of culinary excellence. I will be returning for every seasonal change in their menu.

Many thanks for such a wonderful evening and I look forward to the next menu! You should be immensely proud of what you...

The subdued lighting was sublime after a long day. The lovely service person, added to the perfection of the evening, with subtle water and vino replenishment, to the perfect descriptive of each service. Each dish was humbling. The flavors so deep, they defy a simple descriptive. Reflecting, I leaned over to my spouse with each different bite, to share words of passion...the cod glistened / the depth of the sauce / the dessert...no words on this world to describe the perfection....if there is one thing you should do in life, is to bless yourself with a culinary experience such as...PETIT SOCCO

This is a must try! The booking can be alittle frustrating because it is very hard to get a reservation. However it works on a 30 day revolving schedule with a new day opening at noon each day. The owners are a chef/server duo and you can feel their passion the whole time. With the quaint space they do a great job at staying attentive! It's a preselected menu that they have hand selected the ingredients to pair well together. Was one of the better experiences I've had in a while.
