Just walk to the backside of the Building block, there are very small and humble old stairs leading you up to the platform to make a picture. This area is famous because of some movies filmed partially here. Also some of the old "Airplane touching the Skyscraper" Pictures are shoot here, the time the Kai Tak Airport was in business. The light here is not so well, so nearly all of the pics you see are improved by Photoshop or similar. This is a private living area, so pls be friendly and humble by your shooting. There are some markets around, with very good and fresh meat and vegetables and fruits, so you can combine your visit with your grocery shopping. No drone allowed! Easy to reach: Take the double tram and leave at the mount parker road, select the pathways/roads leading up a little bit the hill, they will guide you to the back side of the Monster building, then find the backyards (you will realise if you reach there), then take one of the old and overused stairs to go up one floor.

One of Hong Kong’s most Instragrammable sites, known for its incredibly dense and stacked flats. Also known as the ‘Monster Building’ for its conglomeration of five incredibly dense and stacked residential complexes, Yik Cheong Building and Montane Mansion are possibly the most well-known locations in Quarry Bay and definitely one of the most Instagrammed spots in Hong Kong. A perfect reflection of city’s famed urban density, the photogenic architecture has been featured Hollywood blockbusters like Ghost in the Shell and Transformers: Age of Extinction. Although a banner now tells visitors to ask permission before taking photos, many tourists choose to ignore this.

Visiting the Monster House in Hong Kong was an unforgettable experience. This place is a fascinating blend of architectural innovation and historical significance. The building’s distinctive structure and vibrant colors make it stand out, offering a remarkable sight. The density of the construction here is especially striking, exemplifying Hong Kong’s urban landscape. Walking through this area, one can feel the city’s dynamic rhythm and cultural diversity. The Monster House is more than just a tourist attraction; it’s a vital part of Hong Kong’s history and a must-see for every traveler, offering a unique glimpse into the city’s architectural and cultural essence.
