Title: A Captivating Journey with "Life Sentence" and the Exceptional Host, Steph!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review:
I recently had the absolute pleasure of experiencing the "Life Sentence" escape room, and I must say that it was an incredibly immersive and thrilling adventure! From the moment our group stepped into the room until the exhilarating finale, every aspect of the experience was masterfully crafted to keep us engaged and on the edge of our seats.
First and foremost, I cannot praise our host, Steph, enough for her exceptional skills and dedication. She was not only professional and knowledgeable but also infused our entire experience with warmth and enthusiasm. Steph's infectious energy and passion for escape rooms truly elevated the entire adventure. Her attention to detail and ability to create an immersive atmosphere made us feel like we were actually part of a thrilling mystery.
The "Life Sentence" escape room itself was a work of art. The room's design was intricate, with an abundance of clues, puzzles, and hidden surprises that kept us constantly guessing and engaged. The attention to detail was remarkable, and every element of the room was carefully thought out to enhance the storyline and create an authentic experience.
The puzzles were cleverly designed, striking the perfect balance between challenge and attainability. Each puzzle we encountered was unique and required different approaches, ensuring that everyone in our group had a chance to contribute their skills and problem-solving abilities. The satisfaction of solving each puzzle was unparalleled, and the progression of the game kept us engrossed from start to finish.
Steph's guidance throughout the experience was invaluable. She provided just the right amount of hints and nudges to keep us on track without spoiling the fun of figuring things out ourselves. Her ability to read the room and tailor her assistance to our needs was truly remarkable. It was evident that she genuinely cared about our enjoyment and went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable time.
The climax of "Life Sentence" was a true adrenaline rush! As the final moments ticked away, our hearts raced, and the sense of urgency pushed us to collaborate and think on our feet. The culmination of our efforts was incredibly rewarding, leaving us with a sense of accomplishment and an overwhelming desire to experience it all over again.
To sum it up, "Life Sentence" is an absolute gem among escape rooms, and Steph is the epitome of a fantastic host. The combination of an intricately designed room, captivating puzzles, and Steph's exceptional hosting skills created an unforgettable adventure that surpassed all our expectations. If you're seeking an immersive and exhilarating escape room experience, do not hesitate to choose "Life Sentence" with Steph as your guide. Trust me; you won't be disappointed!

————- FIRST TIME PLAYING: ZODIAC KILLER
We played the Zodiac Killer with a group of 3. It was really fun!! Not as scary as I expected, except for THAT time (iykyk).
I would say 3-4 active people is a good group size for this game.
We were a bit late, but our game master Steph was very kind! We had a quota of 5 hints, used all of them up and they were all very helpful. There were definitely some puzzles that we could’ve figured out on our own if the time were not limited.
We were stuck at the very last puzzle when the time was up. Steph was very kind and still gave us free hints via the speaker, and even when the time was up she came in, explained what we were missing, and let us figure out the final puzzle.
Loved the experience, and I would definitely love to try out the other rooms!

CAME BACK A SECOND TIME: ZOMBIE LAB
I came back here to try out the zombie lab room, with a group of 5 ppl this time.
The zombie lab features more electronic than traditional locks & puzzles. Due to this, it can be harder to notice/fulfill some of the key mechanics of the puzzles. It’s also not very obvious which items are just decorations and which are essentials. The zombie noises can be a bit distracting too. Personally, I think figuring out where to begin when you enter the room can be the toughest part.
We used several hints (used 1 hint at the very beginning cuz we didn’t know where to start haha), and managed to finish it with 5 minutes remaining!
——————— COMPARISON: ZODIAC KILLER & ZOMBIE LAB
Themes Zodiac Killer is focus more on “can you escape on time?”, while Zombie Lab focus more on “can you get the cure on time?”
Is it scary? Personally I don’t find it either of them that scary, especially when you’re playing and having fun with friends. It’s mainly atmospheric, plus THAT time in zodiac killer.
Of course, if you get scared easily it’s still possible for you to find it scary.
Puzzle difficulty Personally, I think zombie lab is definitely tougher than zodiac killer. Not going to much detail, but zombie lab has more electronic locks and zodiac killer has more traditional ones.
When getting hints for zodiac killer, I would thought “Oh! I should’ve known!”, Whereas in zombie lab it would be “ohh so that’s how it works”.
Overall, I think zombie lab would be tougher if you are not used to solving puzzles, but doable once you get a lead on what to do. If you have the time (and money), I would recommend doing zodiac killer as a warmup and then zombie lab. But of course, it will depend on your...
Read moreHands down the absolute best escape room facility in Hong Kong!!! If you're looking for a memorable and fun night with your loved ones, look no further. You will love your time here.
I had been to Fox in a Box twice with my best friends prior to my latest visit. All of the rooms here, from the way they offer hints to the design of game mechanics, are incredibly immersive and thought out. It's certainly much more than what meets the eye. (Don't be fooled by the pictures here because obviously people are trying to not spoil the fun for you! You've got to go to experience it yourself to finally understand their 5-star rating here).
Bunker had such wonderfully designed game mechanics that left my partner and I in awe. This is not the kind of escape room that gives you paper puzzles and simple math equations to solve (unlike other companies in HK) - they really take their rooms seriously! Zodiac Killer was one that scared my friends and I out of our wits. We screamed at every horrifying clue and yelled at every puzzle that we were too scared to solve 😂 But once it ended, we left with a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment (and relief). You truly have to think outside the box and work well with your partners. It's a great activity for bonding with your friends or partner.
During my last visit, with the help of the lovely staff at Fox in a Box, I proposed to my fiancee (who had already proposed to me 😂). The staff were super excited when they learnt about my plan. We ended up incorporating my proposal into the game in the most seamless and special way I could ever think of. My fiancee was completely thrown off guard! Hahahaha. He simply couldn't believe I pulled it off. It was the best. I am so thankful to the staff here! They helped me execute my plan flawlessly, ensured the whole thing went smoothly, and even took videos and pictures for us.
Thank you, Fox in a Box, for all the precious memories in the past year. We will certainly be coming back for the last room. Can't wait until we see more rooms of yours in Hong Kong! Keep up the good work...
