Amazing views of the Hong Kong skyline! Here's updated instructions on how to get here without getting lost:
From Causeway Bay MTR station, make your way to the intersection of Paterson St. & Great George St. Locate the corner where Wellcome and Donki are at. This is the side of the street where the Green Top Minibus #25 is.
Join the queue and hop on the Green Top Minibus #25 -- Destination: Braemar Hill (pay your fare upon entry). Take the Minibus to the Last Stop/Terminal Station. You'll see St. Joan of Arc Secondary School.
Once you get off the bus, walk towards St. Joan of Arc Secondary School. To the LEFT of the school entrance are a small set of stairs going down a path.
Take the small set of stairs and start following the path/trail up hill.
You'll arrive at a fork in road with the sign post from the picture attached: Braemar Hill (Left) and Jardine's Lookout (Right). GO RIGHT TOWARDS JARDINE'S LOOKOUT.
NOTE: If you see the nice stream from the attached video, you've gone the WRONG WAY.
After you've gone RIGHT, it's still a bit of a small trek up to the lookout. The trail does get very narrow with all the plants, but there are various ribbons (white, blue, yellow) to show you're on the right track.
As you get higher and higher, you'll notice a large group of boulders/rocks (on your left side). You'll need to climb up the boulders/rocks to see the view.
The night view is worth it! Just be sure you have a headlamp, flashlight/torch, or enough power on your phone to light your path (if you're planning to head there at Sunset/Evening).
You should still have reception on the trail, so you can also pull up Google Maps to make sure you're heading...
Read moreA short 1 hour hike if you start near the fortress hill MTR station, but you can also take a mini bus to the bus loop at the top if you are in a hurry or lack stamina. There is a set of stairs that lead to a quick path upto the summit for wonderful sunset view of the city! Not to far from the Hong Kong Island City center!
There is a longer route I took (which i would recommend for more adventurous hikers), where I took a set a long set of stairs up from the residential area after a couple minutes of winding paths through the residential area and schools. Once you reach an off beaten path at the top with a wild boar warning, you will be in the right area. There was a guide I followed by googling, but there are colored string tied to tree branches that let's you know you are going to the correct path! There will be run down stairs, a steeper part that you can get up with the assistance of tied rope placed for hikers. You will be near the top when you see big smooth boulders and rocks, and less trees nearby.
Have fun! If you do go here to witness the sunset, try to get there a bit early to secure a nice spot. And if you plan on staying longer, make sure you bring a flashlight! I wad able to go down quickly as soon as the sun set, and found a set of maintenance stairs that lead directly back to...

If you like to take some aerial photos or video there, it is difficult to find a place for your drone to take-off or landing. Be prepared to hand launch and land your drone.
Don'f forget to check the sunrise or sunset time to see the breathtaking view, in particular during the magic hour. It would be nice to capture a timelapse video in the evening if the weather is good.
The summit is on top of Braemar Hill, not too high, only 228 metres, that means you can go there from the city within an hour. The easier way is to do a late afternoon hike from the Braemar Hill Bus Terminus. There are several bus and mini-bus routes going there. It is only a 15-minute walk from the terminus. Remember to bring a torch or headlamp as it will be dark...
