A place very different from the usual idea of Hong Kong. ... quiet and without the bustle of downtown. The Plaza at one end and Market at the other. In between, sea facing pubs and restaurants, plus some shopping. The plaza itself is the main square, with restaurants of its own; plaza regulars such as Watsons wines, Starbucks and MacDonald's, plus home and grocery stores and ATMs. It's the place where residents get together, there's a play area for children as well. Walk away from the Plaza along Stanley Main Street via the promenade passing by a bunch of pubs and restaurants where you'll get everything from sea food to pizza to Italian to pub food. At the end of the stretch you'll reach the Stanley Waterfront where there are some more restaurants offering Chinese food and burgers etc. Walk into the small lane past Paisano pizza and you'll enter Stanley Market full of curios and art pieces to electronics, jewellery and clothes; it's a tourist market so don't feel shy to bargain!

It's a bit far from the main city but travelling here is worth it. You can reach here by bus and there are buses every 15 minutes or less. The market closes at around 4.30 or 5 (most of the shops) so plan a bit early. You can go here for shopping then followed by sunset view , have lunch or dinner by the beach with a view. The people here are sweet and humble which is not true in temple Street or ladies market. I think it's worth visiting Stanley's market as the prices and quality of goods is decent. On the beach side there are few restaurants , the view is mesmerizing. On the main Street there is a municipal corporation managed restroom and it is clean. I loved the vibes here and would definately love to stay here on my next visit to Hongkong.

Stanley Plaza is a shopping complex situated at the end of the waterfront in the seaside community of Stanley on the southern shores of Hong Kong Island. It opened in 2001 providing indoor retail shopping and additional coffee shop and restaurant options, some with alfresco seating for local residents and tourists visiting Stanley. There are several floors of lifestyle and other retail shops and some nice elevated deck and floor views of the sea. Shops and restaurants here are a nice complement to what you'll find along the promenade and the nearby street market referred to as the Stanley Market. Other interesting sightseeing in the area include the historic Tin Hau Temple and small Tai Wong Temple which flank the Plaza, the Murray House and Blake Pier.

We stayed in Central 中环 for our HK trip… after some research, we decided to take a taxi to Stanley Plaza as it seems to be the fastest route from Central. The taxi fare suggested by Google is pretty accurate, so if it is acceptable for you.. you may want to skip the public transport. Nothing much in the plaza… there is a small harbour nearby which is a walking distance. It is also waking distance to the Stanley Market. If you are looking for places to chill and relax in Hong Kong, Stanley should be your go-to place. 😉

Country side feel shopping mall filled up with both individual operated and chain shops and restaurants. The round-shaped plaza was a good place for dogs and children. The washroom was large and maintained well. Though, the wiping papers were used up fast in the toilets. Escalators were running normally. Other restaurants were operating along the street. The bus stop and tour bus waiting area was on the top level of the building. Sea view was pleasant.

Loved it here. Beautiful and relaxing. Great place for sightseeing and pictures. Recommend to anyone visiting Hong Kong. It's a must atleast once. Smelled like sweet sea at the pier near the Tin Hau Temple. Stanley market is a little overpriced, can definately bargain a little depending on what you're browsing. Gets a little challenging over the rocks over onto the other side but worth climbing to get a great view and that perfect snap.
