This is a small speciality museum for those with an interest in local correctional services and prison history in Hong Kong. It is located along Tung Tau Wan Road in Stanley, suitably near the Stanley Prison grounds. Opening hours are 10-1pm & 2-5pm daily (closed on Mondays) and is free to visit.
The Museum features 10 small galleries spaced out over two floors. Exhibitions represent over 170 years of history dating from the late Qing Dynasty through the colonial period all the way to the present era of National Security Law. The rooms are curated with photos and images from the past, various artefacts and information related to dealing with pirates in the early days, to prison internments during the Japanese occupation, the Vietnamese refugee situation as well as general prison life at the old Victoria prison. There are mock gallows and prison cells as well.

If you are limited in time, you'll do fine enough visiting...

Recommend you to stop by if you are already in the area and interested in HK history or...
